More car related than bike, hence Random Banter...

I've been following Retro Powered Cars on YouTube (i.e. Gordon Murray's Ford Escort) and was thinking: quite often, especially with muscle cars, they kick out and sacrifice a fog or spotlight and use the resulting orifice for said cold air intake. For example:

Just wondering if anyone had done something like "float" a 5 3/4 lamp in a normally 7" headlamp hole and used the gap as an ultra subtle cold air intake?

Let's not get bogged down in the usual "does it even make a fecking difference to performance?!" Smile Just the aesthetics...

It's been done, sort of.

For example, https://www.nengun.com/tomei/headlamp-air-intake-nissan-skyline-r34-gtr

Is this a means by which I can avoid the shame of blanked-out fog light spaces on my lowly Tiguan? "Yeah, I removed the lights to avoid heat soak when I'm driftin' 'n' draggin'"
