Import headlight

So I took my bike for an MOT for the first time (just got one when I bought it) and have found out it has a right dipping headlight. Looked up the VIN and seems to suggest it is an import (Suzuki and has 17 digits). I have contacted the original dealer/seller of the bike to confirm this. This wasn't mentioned to me at sale but I got it cheap so no big deal and was sold by an official Suzuki dealer so didn't think to check.

Anyway, apart from my options of getting a replacement light or taping it up every time for the MOT is there anything else I can do?

If changing the light were the SV1000S and SV650S headlights/fairing the same?

Will the MOT tester allow a pass with a small triangle of black tape on the glass (aka cars driving abroad).

If so, do it. AND leave it on (save p*$$*ing off everyone else).

Yes, they taped it up for the MOT I had today and have left it on.

Turns out my bike isn't an import but an official UK bike so it must be a replacement after a drop or electrical failure.
