Hi,
I have a "hose".
One end screws onto bike/car valve.
But on the other end there's a male thread, which screws into some sort of tyre inflator (never used it tbh but expect it's crap as it's just some plastic device , shaped like a drill - why? with a 12v cigararette lighter plug)
I'm just using the wee hose which screws in/out so you can use the other bits for football's, sex dolls etc.
I'm wanting to use this hose for....something....using my wee (tiny) compressor which is meant for airbrushing (a skill I've yet to learn)
I'm presuming there's some sort of common size for this but don't know what it is.
know it's NOT 1/8bsp as that's the connection size on my airbrush kit & I have 1/4bsp adaptor) but it is small like that so nowhere near 1/4bsp.
I reckon it's about 7 or 8mm diameter couldn't be any more accurate as vernier has finally given up the ghost. Not bad for a aldi/lidl tool which cost less than a tenner. It would last year's longer but I've lost the wee battery cover Embarassed
How many threads should I count or is there any easier way.

cheers,
GAZ

How about 1/8 NPT thread which is the american alternative to our BSP pipe threads. https://blog.restek.com/how-to-determine-the-size-of-1-4-and-1-8-national-pipe-thread-tapered-npt-fittings/

Are you talking about the thread pitch/dia of a Schrader valve? Oh, looky what google turned up.
Metric: 7.7 mm OD, thread root diameter is 6.9 mm x 0.794 mm pitch

Is it the same size as a Woods (Dunlop) valve thread, or the end of the bicycle pump hose that goes into end of the bicycle pump?

Edit: Or some other bicycle-type valve?

Erm....No.
Schrader is car valve type, right.
I have the end that screws onto a Schrader valve.
Only way to check if it's same on other end (but male instead of female) would be to turn it back on itself (hose) & seeing if the unknown male thread screws onto the connection for Schrader valve (female) but hose is too short to try.
It may well be but no way to try.

cheers,
GAZ

Hi,
It could well be the same as what threads into a bicycle pump.
Unfortunately i don't own one to check...

Thank God for that. Were you to try it, the thing might well fertilise itself, and you could have hundreds of the little devils rolling around in your workshop, alll trying to have it off with your foot pump.
