Ive been thinking of trying some microdose psilocybin as a way of getting my more depressing thinking sorted. Has anyone tried this? You can buy packs of shroom in measured doses online, what are peoples thoughts on this?

I'd just wait to Autumn and go picking. Wildly varying doses are just part of the fun.

Not sure fun's what he's after.

OP: https://www.cochrane.org/CD000448/DEPRESSN_st.-johns-wort-for-treating-depression

There does not seem to be any research, currently, on psilocybin, although there's a lot of talk about it here and there.

Well, since you asked... Laughing

Sounds like a bad idea.
For fun, yes, sounds good. But not to change who you are.

Explanation: changing yourself to make other people happy with you might work. Don't know - never tried it. But if you can't look in the mirror and see yourself staring back, it's never going to be worth it. In a worst case scenario, you may reach a personal epiphany and be a much happier person, knowing the secrets of the universe and all that stuff. Just not the same person as before.

You sound like my dad would have. When you look in the mirror what you can see sometimes is absolute desperation with no fix.

Everyone I've met who swears by psychedelics for personal happiness has sunken eyes, pasty skin, is unnaturally gaunt and overall isn't exactly a shining example of what personal happiness really looks like.

I know what you mean but I'm not looking for trips and kicks.

I grow my own and take 0.1g a day for 4 days on 2 days off. Makes me a bit happier and more able to bring about positive lifestyle change; i.e exercising, eating right, keeping my house clean, things that I find impossible to do when sunk in depressive "funk". Thumbs Up

I am immensely interested in trying them, at all, let alone for motivational purposes.

Very bad idea, shrooms/LSD always enhanced our moods when we took it. I was always a chilled out type so had great trips, my ex was highly strung which made her paranoid and an absolute fucking nightmare to trip with and in turn made everyone else freak out. If you aren't a happy go lucky type do yourself and everyone around you a favour and stay off the lysurgics.

I've given up on the idea. I think it's probably rational given current circumstances to have the blues. It's also illegal to import shroom micro doses and difficult to accurately dose anyway. The legit research into microdose hallucinogens is interesting though.

It's October, probably the best month to go picking. A day out in the country might do you good anyway. The hills behind where I live are a popular place for people who have 'lost their car keys'. In their droves..

Difficult to find later in the season. The farmers pull the cows inside and feed silage over winter when grass growth slows to a stop.

Best place to find majik-truffles is where a coo has clattered.

I'd wash the bee-jeeziz out of them. Sick

Me and my mate Karl made mushroom tea using approx that many. One of the most colourful evenings of my life. Laughing
We spent the evening on One tree hill in Stanford le hope staring at the Coryton refinery in the distance with its fire and twinkly lights.

If you really want to go on a proper trip, try some Hawaiian mushrooms.
(or a couple of microdots)

I ate two boxes of Hawaiians and didn't touch down again for 5 hours. I have never giggled like it since.

Never had a mushroom trip and didn't feel FANTASTIC the following day.

200
400
As somebody who was around before Julie had her operation, I've been round the houses a bit, if you follow me. Those suggested numbers look, somewhat generous, shall we say. Start low, you can always have a few more.
