Although this is a video i thought it'd be better placed here. Don't know about you, but i didn't know wheelies pretty much automatically come under Dangerous Driving, with all the penalties that that entails.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DVPeZg4Imqw

Shocked Going to be a lot more careful in future, i think.

Always annoys me though, when some people say if you want to do it, do it in a field, or an old airstrip, or on a track. No tracks allow wheelies that i'm aware of, good luck finding a field where no one's going to mind, and how many old airstrips are around where you're not going to get chased off or reported?

In Germany, as much as i hate all their other restrictive laws, wheelieing is seen as a minor infraction and on its own at worst might earn you a telling off by the polizei.

Dammit. Why is it that anything that's any kind of fun these days either bad for you or massively illegal.... Mad

A stoppie doesn't arguably reduce visibility or braking effectiveness a lot... so I can see that it's not so much of a problem... maybe? But most magistrates will drive a Hyundai or something so won't have a clue about bikes.

Andrew Dalton seems to be one of the few people online who actually knows his onions when it comes to motorcycle specific law.

Also, I really like 44 teeth. I can't stand BvG on his own, and I think some of his views are a bit... sus... but together with Fagan it's something that can't be replicated. Eveything they do is enjoyable.

Remember kids, bikes aren't like lego. You can't easily take a part from one bike and then fit it to another.

I've been caught 4 times, and only "charged" once. If you do it properly I don't think it's that dangerous at all, but I've seen so many power "wheelies" that make you think they pretty much deserve to get in trouble for being an embarassment to the word "wheelie".

You can wheelie as much as you want if you go drag racing. You won't get good times though.

You can also kill your engine doing wheelies. A mate of mine seized his SV650 through repeated wheelies and drag starts because all the oil went to the back of the sump away from the pickup. He had to rebuild it and weld baffling into the sump pan.

If you do it properly then it would be on private property and not on the public highway that normal people need to be safe.

The only one reason to wheelie on public roads is showboating.

It thrill the fcuk out of me when I watch Youfailed clips of cnuts destroying themselves trying to wheelie 'properly' on public roads. 😊😊😊

I never feel any urge to wheelie but then when hung like an Aberdeen Angus bull, one can easily find other diversions for entertaining one's ego.

Your cock is 4ft long, the width of a finger and corkscrew-shaped with a bone up the middle?

How does that go down with the Mrs?

I didn't know you were the epitome of wheelie knowledge and definitions. To give the predictable reply... Those who can't, preach...

Just don't get caught.

Then again I got caught speeding after 6 years of stupidness.

Never been caught for a wheelie though.

I would love to be able to do wheelies properly, I need to go to a wheelie school to learn.

I've done a few, most have been done in error. I just don't fancy wrecking my bike, fork seals. flipping the bike, engine damage etc.

Most of the people I know who can do wheelies on tap have either had access to dubious bikes in their youth or used other people's bikes to practice on and make all the errors on those, walking away when it all goes wrong.

And yet you felt the urge to buy an S1000r pretty much the minute they came out without checking you could get insured so you could ride it really slowly around the East riding.

I still consider myself a complete novice at wheelies but I learned on a 2016 S1000RR which I probably couldn't afford to replace if I binned it. Just learn slowly and over time with baby steps.

The fear many people have about looping a wheelie whilst learning is exactly what stops you from looping in the first place.

It's when you don't fear that and go balls-to-the-wall on your first 10 attempts that you're at risk of looping it. On the flip-side people who are very close to the limits & 12 o'clocking their bikes all the time are also most at risk of flipping.

Your consciousness of self preservation is a good thing, use it to your advantage and go bang the front up.

I was doing 1 inchers for weeks before I learned to power it up for more than a second, then progressed to clutch ups. I'm still chasing the fuck out of them to the end of second gear and haven't learned to shift yet. Want to carry them for longer but self-preservation and the fear of being caught has any progress utterly gridlocked right now.

Once you get started the goalposts always move though. Once you start learning you'll probably want to do them longer, higher, whatnot, until eventually you loop it.

I just realised this reply is probably tef-length at this point, sorry.

Wish I had the balls to do a wheelie, intentionally anyway.
