Hi all, is there a simple copycat part on any Chinese bikes or anything else to replace the caliper on the misses cg125?
I noticed contaminated pads and upon stripping I found the previous owner /bodger has pried the piston O'ring in or out with a screw driver and left a gouge in the caliper. The O ring bulges out and dribbles brake fluid, lovely. Short of paying out the best part of £200 for a new one, what are my options?

Pic of damage? It would need to be pretty bad to be totally unfixable. Might even be weldable.

It would be a fiddle and would need a lot of degreasing but you could probably build that up with lumiweld (or other aluminium solder of your choice) then carefully dremmel the slot back in.

I'm surprised there aren't any used ones on ebay. However, I bet it's just the back-plate that's specific to the CG, may be worth having a look about to see if any other small hondas use that casting.

I've been looking, cb is dual, most others are other side mounted. I'm looking at a generic pit bike caliper and fabricating the mounting plate to fit? Rolling Eyes
Fowlers want £239 for a new one lol, the bike only cost £350 hahaha Shocked

If you're going to go to the effort of fabricating a backing plate, why not fit a 2-pot off an innova or similar?
