Afternoon, recently I have had a crash on my CBR125, I have contacted my third party and just curious whether or not a after market exhaust (undeclared) could possibly effect the situation. I would like to notice that it was completely the third party fault and I am using a solicitor rather than my poor insurance company to get my bike repaired. (I currently been given a hired bike from them).

Now if there is any impact on the situation, could I possibly smudge sticker out and tell the mechanic that I had no clue?, the exhaust is pretty much very similar to a old shape CBR125 therefore I think that could be the case but still I would want someone to tell me about all this, the exhaust was not damaged and doesn't need any replacing.

Nope, not unless the aftermarket exhaust turned your CBR125 into a Fireblade beater, or it cost £1000 which you expect the insurer to cough up. No impact. Don't even mention it.

Be wary of extravagant costs when "accepting" a hired bike from your own insurer.

The exhaust itself is a Venom by Motad, it's not for sale anymore so can't even find a estimate of what it could be worth.

I have been told and have got it in writing that I will not be paying any cost for hiring bike and that the third party will cover the costs for it - McAms have told me that.
