Just bought a new pair of Held Manero Gore-tex Pro trousers for very little money, ordered the braces and D30 hip armour to go with them and will be ordering the coccyx armour and Bib converter as well today.

I have the Bib converters for my IXS trousers and one of my pairs of Hein Gericke trousers and find they massively reduce wind cold and increase warmth so when I look at trousers I always see if they are available as they have always been a bit on the rare side.

Just wondered if anyone else used them or was even aware of them?

Wasn't aware it was a thing, wish I had been when I was riding in all weather.

Well isn't that just a bit of common fucking sense I wish I'd thought of 15 years ago Laughing

Not the specific items, but I always look for a zip in waistcoat/bib in a set of textiles. First set I used was from Hein Gericke (more years ago than I care to think about), it was a revelation.

IXS have stopped selling their one, maybe because no one knew they existed but as you can see its a nice quality item.

Unfortunately it isn't Gore-tex lined only thermal lined but then they only cost about £35.

The Hein Gericke ones are nicer. The one I have is lined with Gore-tex Performance shell and the other half has a pair of Pro Shell trousers where the Bib converter is lined with Pro Shell so no expense spared.

The Held one is £52.99 and not Gore-tex lined, its compatible with a few other high end brands as well. Richa do one that is Gore-tex lined but no one else seems to be doing them at the moment.

I've got IXS gear (that I'm very impressed with) - I think I'll look into this!

Edit:
Ah - just seen the bit where you said they stopped doing them. Boo!

I do have an old pair of leather salopettes are great for keeping that potentially draughty mid-section warm - not the most convenient on longer runs though.

Save a search on Ebay, they still turn up. You need the size that corresponds to your trousers size. Well worth getting if you can.

Forgot to mention it's called the IXS Tex-Zip 2

Wear on it's own or pair with some ass-less chaps for a trip to the gay bar too. Thumbs Up

The last lot of textiles I got (Alpinestar) came with the other half of the zip still attached - if you have this would it be possible to have this sewn onto your bib of choice?
