Koyo.

I've tried all balls racing before, and I'm not a fan.

Maker: Anything with a good name: SKF, Timken, NTN, etc. Nothing to choose between them.

Supplier: Whoever will supply cheapest.

Local bearing factors usually have a small sales desk. Go in with a bearing number or the old one, be handed a lollipop and pay pennies. Go in without one and have the piss ripped and no lollipop for you.

At least, that's how they roll at my local one.

I've bought no names for 90p including postage before now.
But those were only for test wheels.

As an aside, there's something very very satisfying punching out old bearings and installing new ones.

I can strongly second this. Simply bearings are excellent.
Obviously you have to do a bit of research and find out the correct part numbers from information about the make and model of bike.
Often other listings will actually list the part numbers in part of the description , you are looking for something like 6304, that type of format.
Please don't buy cheap chinese bearings online -some of them are terrible , with poor heat treatment of the materials ( so looks like a bearing , but lasts 5 minutes)

Personally I'm not a great fan of 'All balls' stuff. I think their business model revolves around branding and smart packaging , but not necessarily the highest of quality parts.

Simply bearings have lots of good brands SKF, NTN, Koyo etc....
Ride well.

Also, as I recently saw on a youtube video. Fuck tapping round the edge of the inner race with a punch. Wind a rowl-bolt into the middle of one of the bearings and whack the fucker straight out from the other side with a socket extension bar straight down the middle. You can take the spacer tube with it if you want.

Ah, yes, I remember investing in that expensive tool and how my weekend went from planned and peaceful to chaotic when part of the bearing came out but the rest got stuck inside the wheel (a failed / collapsed bearing). What a fun weekend of smashing the shit out of it and getting nowhere that was.

Local shop welded something to it and pulled it out in the end, and installed the new ones in the process for good measure.

Good Ol' learning experiences. Laughing

BMW (Best motor bikes in the universe with the greatest riders too 😎)
Use a heat gun to warm the wheel hub prior to using a puller. (Expanding Metal Tool thingie.)
I did this when I fitted new bearings in my S1000RR 2yrs ago. Worked a treat.
Bike goes much faster now. 👍

The alloy of the wheel will spand sooner than the steel bearing race.

One of my favourite toys. Wub

I put them on all the ships in my fleet and SKF took me out for a lovely meal!

After I had bought them, honest. Whistle

Another vote for simplybearings; got new ball bearings for my bicycle hubs for peanuts compared with the "official" ones.
