Pyramid Fairing Lowers - Worth it?

Rather than upgrading to an MT-10 I think I've come round to the idea of simply continuing to up-spec my current Fazer.

Considering these:

Dubious about the difference to wind buffeting and rain/weather protection they'll give and it would also mean losing my crash bungs and engine bars (which I had planned to fit spot lights to).

Any thoughts? Anyone had these before care to give your opinion?

Why? Get an MT man, for God's sake. The Fazer is not even close.

Then why consider it? Couple hundred is a lot of money in current climate. Sounds like your trying to catch a cat's tail and scratch an itch by spending a bit of money, but I've not been following?

That's why I'm in two minds whether to pull the trigger on the MT and edging more towards keeping the Fazer. I know the MT is far superior in most respects especially as I would be looking to get the SP and add the bolt-on upgrades from the MT-10 Tourer (i.e. comfort seat, taller screen etc.).

I like the Fazer because it sort of sits between the naked and sport tourer category. It's a naked bike but with more weather protection than virtually any other naked I can think of. Can you name a NAKED bike with more weather protection? I like the upright seating position and wide handlebars, wouldn't really wanna go full sport tourer as I don't think I'd like the seating position or the clip-ons plus the bikes in the sport tourer category tend to be a bit heavier and I wanna keep with something relatively lightweight. Don't wanna go ADV as I wanna remain in the Jap camp and I don't think any of the Jap ADV bikes are powerful enough to satisfy my speed itch.

So thinking... keep the Fazer but maybe upgrade the suspension to Ohlins if possible, get a power commander etc. Might seem like throwing good money after bad but gonna be cheaper than buying a whole new bike.

Cruise control would be nice though which you can't get on the Fazer as it's cable throttle not fly-by-wire.

Not much to go on as I've not ridden either - but Jeez that MT10 is an ugly fucker ..and that from a dyed in wool Yamaha man.. Children will start to cry if you pull up outside a playground

Also Fazer .. better the devil you know?

You can usually get a great extension for the cost of moving house.

LOL yeah it is fucking ugly but that doesn't bother me. If it had a little nose cone on the front like the Fazer does I would be sold on it.
