Is your bike an import? Might be a reduced-power model from somewhere like California, though it would probably have loads of extra emission control junk on it if it was.
Anyway, why not just buy 51mm pods? ____________________ a.k.a 'Geri'

Bought two lots of aftermarket filters now and both say they should fit but both are approximately 60mm and my carb mouths are approximately 51mm so they are saying perhaps I have none standard size carbs?
Getting very pissed off tried to find what size they should be but can't find size anywhere Help please.
Bike is a suzuki gsx600f 2001 katana. |
There are people selling stuff on Ebay who have no clue as to what they are selling - radiator hoses to fit air cooled Citroen 2cv not a problem on Ebay it seems, being one example. You need to do your home work nowadays.
I had a right ding dong with an angry seller over a clutch cable "it's not for any specific model , pay to send it back" he tells me when I complain it doesn't fit, "they're all the same anyway" . No they are not. DR250S is SOHC - DR250RS is DOHC - totally different bike - Refunded.
The point is, When the air box is off measure the size of the holes - and order that specific size - rather than just off the model. ____________________ All the above is my personal opinion, you can see my lips move, but I'm talking out of my arse.
I've been riding, and fixing , bikes for 50 years, in that time the more I learn, the less I am absolutely sure of..... |
