Did you get a receipt?

Is this a bike you've actually viewed or have you been dealing online only?

I was dealing online. He was far north and I couldn't view the bike so I asked for videos. No receipt it was through bank transfer to his wife.

Did you get videos?

What you can do is report it to police, but if the answer to the above is 'no' then he's clearly just grabbed some pics of a bike.

Report it to the police so that they can laugh directly in your face most likely; take a bit of abuse from people on a forum for being too trusting; learn from it and don't do that again.

What information do you have? His name? His approximate location? His bank account rdetails? The registration mark of the vehicle? Video of where the bike is?

You'll probably find you have quite a bit of interesting material if you have a think!

You could possibly get a decent-ish location using exif data from a picture he sent if its still embedded.

But yeah, just inform them you are going to report it to the police and if they don't seem overly stressed, its probably some burner phone and shit.

However, he could be longing it out till payday cos he spent it already and doesn't have it to refund Laughing

Just reported fraud through my band and they're going to try to withdraw the funds. The advert is still up though an account of a bodywork shop / repair shop and the guys whatsapp profile image is the same company name. so yeah the advert is still online

I have his name (I think) his wife's full name, his approximate would be west Yorkshire which is quite a large area tbf, his wife's bank account details, and the vehicles details yes. The vid of the bike doesn't show the envoirement unfortunately.

Hope the latter is the case rather than a scam. And how do I check that exif think you said?

You did a bank transfer?

https://thebreaksblog.files.wordpress.com/2015/12/homer-doh.png?w=368&h=273

Sounds daft, but next time use Paypal, and make sure you don't use the "paying a friend" transfer option. Even outside of ebay etc, you can transfer money with some insurance if the seller turns out to be fake.
