Best discounts: now or after Christmas?

As per the subject really; we want to buy a bicycle trailer for the sprog so we can take him cycling. They're not cheap and rarely discounted (Thule Chariot Cross 1), in fact they were apparently almost impossible to obtain over the summer as everyone was buying them. What does the BCF collective reckon; go for a "black friday" deal now (best I've seen is about 15% off the RRP), or wait for a "new year" sale? It's not a present and won't get used until Feb realistically as he needs to be sitting up properly (not quite there yet), we're just trying to get a good price.

Wait till after X mas ,when it really gets cold i think your in with a better chance.

With a bit of looking around you might be able to find one for free on a local facebook page.

Purely by chance my neighbour has just given me Which magazine ‘Secrets of the Sales’.

It has a rather odd pie chart with the following

Products that were the same price or cheaper..
...after Black Friday 98%
...before Black Friday 85%
...before and after Black Friday 85%

Always viewed it as an opportunity for retailers to shift soon to be discontinued product lines before the C word hits.

I have a list of products I tend to buy on a regular basis & what I would like to buy. On Amazon.
Not one of them went down, in fact all have gone up in the month pre black Friday.

Bought a bean to cup coffee machine just before lockdown 2.0. Still got it quite a bit cheaper then, than now.

Nowt but a scam.
