Hi guys can someone help?

I'm trying to get learner insurance for my wife's 2008 Ducati Monster 696+, she starts her DAS course on Monday.

I could have sworn I found one before on a comparison website, probably Meerkat as that's the one I usually use, and only one company gave a quote (presumably because provisional licence type was selected) and pretty sure it was Hastings with a very good price. Just tried to get a quote on Meerkat again, twiddled with the variables etc. but nothing is coming up. Tried Hastings directly on their website, no joy. Tried Go Compare. No joy. Tried Bennetts. No joy. Tired TempCover. No joy.

I'm starting to get worried we won't get insurance in place before Monday now :-/

I think bikesure would cover people for doing the test on their own bike rather than training. Confused

Try The Bike Insurer, Confused, MoneySupermarket, Quotezone and MCN.

When none of those work, I'd phone the training school in the morning to see if they've got a bike available which she could use. Neutral

Thank you for the suggestions but I have tried all of those and still not getting any luck.

This might be a job for a specialist underwriter who can quote over the phone (on a Saturday!).

Anyone got any insurers to recommend like bespoke insurers who specialise in this sort of stuff and/or heavily modified bikes? That's probably the sort of insurer likely to give a bespoke quote over the phone.

Panic over, I rung round loads of companies and finally got one broker (Mustard) to talk sense. They got us both covered on the bike with Bikesure (strange because I approached Bikesure directly and they were having none of it). Was only a tenner to include myself on there, and my wife can ride any other bike third party so seems like a pretty good policy to me, was just shy of £500.

Cover is for DAS tuition for 60 days from 21st December and includes cover for the rest of the year once DAS has passed. DAS cover can be extended beyond 60 days but we have to inform them.

Slightly concerned now though that with tonight’s news of going into tier 4, will the test be able to go ahead?
