The lorry is a Bedford forward control model probably an SB with a Stovebolt 6 engine ( so pre 1957), probably 214 or 300 in^3. You don't bend those chassis' easily , so it has been in some sort of incident.

Not so much abandoned but there does seem to be even more than in pic. In the middle of nowhere, almost.

This has been parked on the pavement on the main road in the next village from us since 2006. Not only does this illustrate the kinder climate in Cyprus, because the bodywork is pretty good, it also confirms the "relaxed" attitude of the traffic dept to tax, MOT and parking violations Laughing

As if a young family had just stopped by for dinner at a restaurant and will be back shortly to collect their car. And now it's parked somewhere in Greek Cyprus, eh. Well, once upon a time it could have been a lot further north and west, in Europe. Doesn't seem that long ago - or is that just my mind playing tricks?

What a story these cars (all in this thread) tell...

Is this the one you were spackered in?

(I would put up a picture of the Strumpet because it's been neglected for 10 months now but I'm sure thats not what you mean.)

Seeing as how 365 days ago Sid & I arrived in Cyprus for a 6 week stay and are still here, I guess I'll be posting a pic of my sad, abandoned, SORNed Subaru when we eventually do get back. Crying or Very sad

I wonder if it will ever run again Sad

Everyone in Cardiff knows about this one:

https://www.bikechatforums.com/files/rover.jpg

Not really sure how it was allowed to be on the road for the many many years it was in this condition before 'hisotoric vehicle' became a thing that reflects MOT.

There's even a bloody article about it.

Historic vehicle status means you don't pay tax or rather the tax is £0.00. The SORN system still applies along with insurance.

I would imagine it's not on the DVLA database at all - lost in the conversion from paper records - otherwise the government clampers would have picked it up.
