When he met Boris there was a very curious abrupt end when everyone had to immediately leave the room.
Maybe someone nearby heard or smelled something

The democrats aren't doing too well in elections at the moment but the thing that caght my eye was halfway down the linked article.

Amid surging crime, Minneapolis voters rejected a proposal to replace the city's police department with a new Department of Public Safety, more than a year after the murder of George Floyd by an officer

What a surprise..........not.

They squeeze in the obligatory slavery reference neglecting to mention that back in those days Democrats were pro-slavery and the Republicans anti- Rolling Eyes

If the Biden admin actually attempt to push through a lot of their climate rhetoric it will be the biggest vote for republicans ever next time.
Hopefully the mysterious machines adding votes and deceased voter issues will be sorted before then too.

Im not sure a lot of 'muricans actually understand any single issue they might be called upon to consider during an election.

And thank the Lord for that! Imagine what they could do if they actually had a clue Laughing

The DemoKKKrats did drive such a point home with the CRT thing in Virginia...

This is exactly how dumb our politics have gotten

Quote:
To be clear: There can be a serious discussion -- and disagreement -- over the best ways to teach our kids about race and racism. That's a legitimate debate. That's not what we have in this country at the moment.
Instead we have conservative media -- and politicians -- erroneously suggesting that CRT teaches White kids they are bad and to blame for the racial problems in the country. And, unfortunately, people don't do any of their own research to even understand the basics of what CRT is and what the debate over it is really about.

Another one in the bag surely? Errr....

Democrats look for lessons in Virginia and New Jersey as a blame game inside the party rages

Quote:
Democrats suffered a demoralizing defeat in Virginia, losing all three top statewide offices...

Hey, guys, here's an idea: stop insulting the electorate Rolling Eyes

Inflation, explained: Why prices keep going up and who's to blame

Carefully written to in no way blame the government and barely a hint of "money printer go brrrrrrrr!" Rolling Eyes

Inflation happened when currencies were based on gold so 'Money printer go brrrr' is a result, not the cause.

I thought money printing was a very simple mechanism to create inflation by the simple principle that the more there is of something the less value it has.

Edit
I did find this interesting page at Investopedia https://www.investopedia.com/ask/answers/042015/how-does-money-supply-affect-inflation.asp

Well, I did a bit of research and indeed the gold standard as a "standard" is a bit of a red herring as it depends on the value of that gold, which a government holding enough of the stuff can manipulate. This essentially is another way of printing money with potentially the same inflationary result.

Apparently more ounces of gold are currently traded than physical ounces of gold have ever been mined in the history of the planet.
