The small scale charity efforts (largely religious I suspect in the US) seem to be effective, doesn't seem to scale out Thinking I'm suspicious of government led "safe zones" for taking drugs - free needles provided, etc. - versus the "gotta be cruel to be kind" attitude of the private programs where it's Step 1: get off drugs.

As to the political link it was just the Tucker Carlson video. Obviously he's going to blame the Democrats which is why I subsequently mentioned Texas and Florida. That hints at localised wealth and weather being the biggest attractors of the homeless (NY City being pretty chilly in the winter.)

So in context of the Ukrainian war, sleepy-Joe or buzzing-on-speed-Joe ?

Personally I think Biden is a hard nosed aggressive machine. He's hacked his way around the snakepit of Washington politics for over fifty years and is as ruthless and smart as they come.

Was. I’ve seen him being interviewed not too long ago (but before he became POTUS) and he was a sharp, agile thinker. Now he seems to be suffering the effects of old age, to put it kindly.

Or now hes in power he can have a bit of a f you artitude when being interviewed and doesn't have to be anenable. I dont like him. I think hes a soldier for the neo-lib elite but hes an old bstard and a better choice to deal with Putin than his predecessor who was just a cheap schoolyard bully, ultimately a coward and unreliable as fxxx.

I'm sure he's dead keen for Russia to fail. After installing a puppet dictator Putin's next move would be to expose all the Western corruption of the Ukraine and the Bidens are neck deep in that shit.

We already have Michael Malice, coincidently a Ukrainian-American. TBH I was very much "pah! Anarchy, how's that gonna work?!" until I saw him in a few interviews. But I tend towards anarcho-capitalism over anarcho-communism.

And there are days when I can;t even say my own name because of the aphasia.
He wouldn't be the first person in a wheelchair to be president.

He might as well be bound, gagged and locked permanently away in his basement for all the good he does Laughing

Oh, so ppl in wheelchairs become as smart as Stephen Hawking?! That's Able-ist! Shocked

No, people doubt his wisdom. If you're an old fucker don't try and get cocky on a push-bike. Pedal foot cages mostly scream "try hard" even for healthy ppl.

And falling up stairs? Style it out! That's what everyone else does Smile But the man also has no sense of humour as evidenced recently on the Jimmy Kimmel show. So we have...

- No sense of humour
- Can't finish a sentence
- Proven liar
- Child molester
- Easily manipulated
- No leadership skills
- Corrupt

And those are just the things we know about for certain Neutral On the plus side he is relatively fit for his age. I'm sure Putin's quaking in is bunker at the thought.

Sleepy Joe wasn't so sleepy back in 2018, so it turns out, when he was busy clearing up Hunter Biden's mess and making sure he was 'clear'. Sure, he didn't have a clue what his son was up to his eyes in Rolling Eyes

Meanwhile, the BBC are too busy fluffing themselves over the Jan 6th !!!INSURRECTION!!! news to even pay it any attention.

It's bizarre seeing as there has been multiple bombings and shootings over the years: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_States_Capitol#List_of_security_incidents

Is this the whole "damning testimony from ex-Trump aide" thing? The one where Trump purportedly went full GTA and when the secret-service agent complained "take your hands off the steering wheel, sir" The Orange Monster grabbed him by the throat Laughing

They want to act like Trump was on the verge of leading his troops into battle...

https://pbs.twimg.com/media/DYp6n3xWAAAP53v.jpg

The reality was some metal barriers got pushed over, and some people walked into the chamber and were politely asked to leave... https://youtu.be/270F8s5TEKY?t=377

The conflict seemed to be when they got too close to politicians (probably the real reason they're so upset) and that woman got shot in the neck. But they had cable ties!!!

There were people on this very forum calling it an insurrection at the time. They seem to be a bit quiet now.

I still think it' was an attempt at insurrection but then I'm a socialist and know nothing about revolution.

So you could see the insurrection that went on for the four years prior and the call for insurrection now, but with actual violence and actual multiple deaths caused by the insurrectionists?

The call for those who didn't vote the right way of the mob to be removed and incarcerated?
