Anyone know if RiseupVPN is any good? also it's totally free and has unlimited useage which makes me wonder?

From what I gather you get a French IP address and torrenting is allowed. I was using Air Vpn before that, is RiseupVPN to be trusted? seems a good deal if it is.

Sounds very nice but their head office in in Seattle so all their talk of protection of freedom is just that: talk. You can't trust security to anyone with links to the US Sad

Your ISP doesn't care if you download torrents.

Literally no but they do pass on tiresome notes like "we've been notified that on 23/08/2020 you downloaded 'Game of Thrones Season 8' and you really shouldn't have wasted your time and the copyright holder is a bit miffed." They also filter out things like Pirate Bay. Yes you could use a proxy but VPNs sidestep a load of things in one convenient service.

Here's a free one stop convenient service: https://unblockit.ltd/

Wink

If someone wants a VPN for nefarious purposes then they should go for one that's in a non-Western country.

Be careful with RiseupVPN https://www.reddit.com/r/VPNTorrents/comments/hf72qp/riseupvpn_virus/

It’s a lot easier to access torrent sites when your ISP isn’t blocking it though
