Even having lived in China it's the one thing I can't get used too (1000 year eggs for breakfast Sick ). I'm pretty boring when it comes to breakfast, I don't even like a fry up unless I've been up for a few hours already. I usually seek out Congee and steamed buns.

See I can't do breakfast unless it's interesting. I also don't eat first thing in the morning - have to be awake an hour before I want anything, but when I do..... Gimme flavours Cool

On my list. It's now Saturdays breakfast lol.

Looks a piece of piss to do as well. Can see tabasco in it's future though.

Tried a new one the other day; roasted some potatoes in olive oil and incorporated into a 40/60 wholemeal/white sourdough. Hard work handling the dough with what felt like aggregate in it, but despite appearances prior to baking that it'd become an unmanageable mess, it actually turned out pretty well. Thumbs Up

I cooked egg bhurji the other day. It was a bit more faffy than normal scrambled eggs, but by god it was tasty! Quite hot (not excessively, but don't expect this not to be spicy).

Recipe I used (and will be doing again): https://www.indianhealthyrecipes.com/egg-bhurji-andhra-egg-porutu/

If you think that those are sausage rolls you are just as much a philistine as you are a racist.

Glad to see you got home safely Nobhead!

Is this a version of saying you won an argument by saying the same thing repeatedly until people get bored with pointing out just how you are wrong using reasoned and scientifically valid justifications of why you are wrong, but by saying something that just bewildered everyone reading?

Got mrs stinkwheel to do a dry rub of chopped lime zest, garlic oil, crystal salt and pounded dried chillis on diced chicken then skewered and grilled. Served on lime and corriander rice and sliced avocado with a tomato salad with a lime and oilive oild dressing on the side.

I'd suggested she used two of my dried super chillis in the mix, they are my usual cooking chillis and I have a big jar of them dried on the kitchen unit. She said "They were a bit small so I used three". This struck me as odd because super chillis aren't really all that small.... "Umm which jar did you get them from?"

"The little one in the cupboard."

"So not the big one on the kitchen worktop then? One of the jars I put at the back of the cupboard and told you not to touch under any circumstances because they are chemical weapons grade death chillis?"

So yes. Dried Bhut Jolikas. Three of them. We actually survived the experience and it was reasonably tasty for the first half (after which, I lost the ability to taste anything for a while). Lots of lime juice, sour cream and the avocado saved the day.

Would have been really nice with orange habaneros.

Those sausage rolls look alright. Thumbs Up
They don't look like sausage rolls (although I am sure PomdiddlyOmPom is fully aware of that)
But they look alright.

Mind you, I've been mostly avoiding carbs since July last year Laughing
Anything with pastry in, looks great to me.

I'll quickly add to the sausage roll page.
I bought a pastry sheet, spead out some smooth Branston with some grated cheese.
Mixed some sausage meat in a bowl with a sprinkle of garlic powder and mixed herbs.
Roll the mixture up in the pastry, seal the edge, brush on some egg wash and whack in't oven.

Don't you find your sausage is underdone??
My Pilsbury pastry is done in the mini oven in 20 mins, so l partly cook the rolled sausage meat then let it cool before *inserting it in Mr Pilsbury!!

* snigger-snigger!

Nope. I just cook it for 30mins on a lower heat setting.

My oven blew up several years ago and I've never replaced it. It was a great oven as well.
