The ZR7 I had EBC discs on the front and they always had surface rust / spots on them after a winter ride followed by a cover being placed over a warm bike (the luxury of waiting for the bike to cool down or drying it before being covered not available, of course).
While its annoying and looks visually worrying I wouldn't overly worry about it, I never did. Brake cleaner and a quick wipe with a cloth before a ride was my solution to prevent it from getting on the pad face was my solution -- but I cleaned them so often (because I rode in crap weather, and they were really easy to take apart) that I doubt it would have made a difference even if I'd have just rode.

You've missed the boat in being able to ACF-50 the bike properly (because IMO its best applied on a warm tail towards the tail end of summer when the bike can dry naturally, or at all), but I'd get one of them £25.69 32oz ACF-50 spray bottles and coat what you can with it, being sure not to trap any salt underneath it so you don't do more damage than good.
If you've not got a hose pipe then a small cheap spray bottle filled with water can be really effective at displacing grime etc after a ride from the hard to reach areas (buy some cheap cleaner from shop, empty, rinse bottle multiple times and use as water sprayer).

A scotoiler may be a good investment depending on mileage you do. Always used to annoy me working most of the week and having to use a bike that needed something doing (chain lubing, or brakes cleaning) and not having either the time or long enough dry weather to get it done. ____________________ The do it all, T̶h̶e̶ ̶b̶r̶o̶k̶e̶n̶ ̶o̶n̶e̶,̶ ̶T̶h̶e̶ ̶b̶i̶g̶ ̶l̶u̶m̶p̶,̶ ̶C̶h̶o̶n̶g̶ ̶N̶o̶o̶d̶l̶e̶ |
