Hi all,
As per usual I had to drill off the heads on the 2 banjo bolts on the cylinder head.(for the weird carb heater hoses) on my Yamaha tdr125 project.
No problem I thought, just check cmsnl for part number & buy on line, cheaper than the Yamaha price of €9 for 2 + postage.

So anyone know where to buy them?

I figured they'd be about a quid each & seen similar but bigger types for aroundc £1 or even less.
But for some reason M6 banjo bolts are 4 times the price of M10 banjo bolts.....I don't 6understand - why the price difference?

TL/DR? So anyone have an idea where I can buy some M6 banjo bolts?
Ideally I'd like to buy them individually & at same time/place as the rest of the bolts/fixings im gonna need to finish this off?

cheers,
GAZ

Just ordered from these guys' eBay shop - decent service / price and - more importantly - reasonable postage since I only wanted a couple of little M10's to cap off my old mirror stems and most places were charging £7 upwards postage Surprised

Buying bolts is like buying anything else.

Mainly I'd say that it depends on the mechanical properties of the material.
The method of manufacture.
The strength of the market.
And many other factors.

An M10 grade 12.9 may be more expensive than weaker M10 grade 8.8 as manufacturers spend more effort producing the grade 12.9.

Bolt aren't just bolts.

Complete guess here but maybe M10 banjo are super common on industrial equipment compared to M6 - Generally speaking greater production = smaller costs.

I know most of the hydraulic gear we look after at work uses way bigger fixings than motorcycle brakes.

I was going to link to a company that sells all sorts of bolts and hardware, but banjos are pretty much exclusive to automotive applications, so normal hardware doesn't apply. I would personally avoid a 'cheap' banjo bolt to be honest.

If it's a standard metric or imperial bolt then go to ACCU:

www.accu.co.uk

They will do whatever you want in almost any size, diameter and material. No minimum order quantities and won't be made of Chinesium.

If you need something that is non-standard and weird then go to NSSS:

https://www.nssocketscrews.com

If you need some weird German or Japanese specific sizes or machine screws and the likes go to Lancaster Fasteners:

https://www.lancasterfastener.com

If you need something that is self-drilling then go to an Evolution distributor:

https://evolutionfasteners.co.uk

EDIT: Forgot to mention that if its for something Automotive-specific then go to TR Fasteners:

https://www.trfastenings.com

Normally I would too, & especially if it was for brake applications.
But these are for 2 hoses that go from cylinder head to the carb.
In theory to stop carb icing.
Many owners just blank them off but I'd like to keep the bike original to get it on the road & get top end run in.
Then they will be removed along with the original mikuni carb (with the water pipes) & a more conventional dellorto 32mm carb will be fitted.
So I reckon a couple of cheap banjo bolts will be fine for a couple of weeks.

cheers,.
