No more rain, potholes, idiot drivers...

I suppose you could have one that programmed in those things if you wanted.
What it also needs is a wind turbine/generator linked to the registered speed.

It ain't the real thing, and I don't think you could ever replace that, but it could be pretty good - the workout it's obviously giving looks pretty good too, how he's out of breath.

That looks like 10 year old tech, either in actuality or just old kit being used (thinking small screen, the lean was lagging massively from the video etc.). With modern VR etc. it could be made even more realistic . . . helmets already have a limited window to see out of, turn that window into a UHD VR screen and combine that with your wind noise and some clever movements on the bike itself it could be very convincing. I get the feeling the guy was literally leaning his bodyweight to make the bike lean; you could theoretically use pressure sensors on the bars to actuate the lean with countersteering pressure, then hang off the bike.

A lot is possible. It could be made really quite realistic I expect with enough investment, but who's going to pay for it beyond the odd extremely deep-pocketed enthusiast. It wouldn't be the same though, unless there's an airbag under the seat to catapult you across the room if you crash.

Edit; I will confess I only watched the opening 15 seconds or so . . . just in case there was further expansion on all of this!

Why limit yourself to the ground?

Yeah, I'm not really up with all the latest advances in computer simulations and tech., but I suspect it could be almost endlessly refined over time.

With the wind thing, I wasn't thinking just about the wind noise, but the actual pressure of it you feel on a real bike on the road/track.
