If you're reading this, then your browser is already talking to the new server just fine, and everything should be working as normal. Carry on as you were... If you're still here that is, and Facebook and Whatsapp haven't finally finished killing off internet forums.

If you do spot anything that's broken or not behaving correctly, do let me know by posting in this thread. BCF is an ancient clusterfu... an historic relic of a website, and moving it to new hardware every few years always throws up some weird bugs.

And no, there isn't a mobile-friendly version yet. I'm getting around to it, just as soon as I finish rebuilding the R6 I took apart 10 years ago. Besides, this internet-on-your-phone thing is clearly a fad that'll blow over pretty soon...

My favourite moment was when some guy pretended to have an Audi Quattro and got found out and caused a shit storm and they changed his forum name from "FireUpTheQuattro" to "LiarUpTheQuattro" Laughing

Attempting to view a page. Retrying works immediately. Had it a couple of times on clicking a couple of different threads.

That's now fixed, although it was probably safer being left broken.

Seeing as you're spending time doing a bit of BCF stuff, can anything be done to stop images proportions going weird when BCF does whatever it does resizing large images?

Example: https://www.bikechatforums.com/viewtopic.php?p=4748749#4748749

Thank you Mr Korn. Wub

If people are having trouble accessing BCF and get errors saying something about bad gateway, try cleaning your cookies. If that doesn't work then flushing the DNS is another option. Don't worry about what flushing the DNS means, all you need to know is that it's a possible solution. Laughing

Anyway...

Press windows key & R.
Type cmd then press ctrl+shift+enter.
It will ask if you want to allow Command Prompt to make changes to your computer, select yes.
Type "ipconfig /flushdns" and press enter.
Type "ipconfig /registerdns" and press enter.
Type "ipconfig /release" and press enter.
Type "ipconfig /renew" and press enter.
Type "netsh winsock reset" and press enter.
Restart your computer.

The latest page of the "what was the last thing you bought" thread wont load for me then throws up "no posts exist for this topic" message.

Can be loaded via the second to last page, but wont progress onto the latest one.

Only fault I've encountered.

HTH.

The excess cookie / gateway errors should be sorted now.

Old Thread Alert!
