I really need to get back down to Cornwall again to see my mum for the benefit of her mental health if nothing else!

I'm cautiously eyeing up from 17th May "two households can meet indoors" as a marker but I can't find anything being said by Boris about whether we should/could be traveling about at that time Thinking After 21st June it'd be a complete nightmare as I'd imagine everyone will be making a beeline for the coast.

I'll probably somewhat repeat my previous trip: head down on all the main roads for speed and take the laziest route back. Across the Tamar Valley and the middle of Dartmoor might be nice Smile

Given that other stuff which is being flagged for 17 May includes hotels and B&Bs opening along with international travel, I think it's safe to assume that includes travelling within the country. TBH I think what's more of an issue is whether it's allowed - even if not encouraged - earlier than that. The official government statement on the subject states:

"93. From 8 March, the Stay at Home restriction will continue but it will be amended so that people can leave home for recreation as well as exercise outdoors"

Isn't riding a bike recreation?

However, even after 29 March:
"106. [...] people will no longer be legally required to Stay at Home. [...]People should continue to minimise travel wherever possible, and should not be staying away from home overnight at this stage."

After 12 April:
110. [...] Overnight stays away from home in this country will be permitted and self-contained accommodation

Important to note that the new guidance states "...no earlier than..." in relation to every date mentioned, which the MSM are not really reporting; the actual changes will be announced only a week before they happen, so although the tabloids have started their countdowns until the pubs reopen, I think we can safely assume that all these dates will drift...
