Bike

LEXMOTO, VIENNA 125 WY125T-121

Hi all, need a little advice on my bike, just over a week ago I had an accident, Came off my bike pretty hard, (Thanks to someone leaking oil all over the road), so hard I ended up with temperory memory loss and some ugly bruises on my thigh. Im fine now, just sore and stiff.

My bike, took it pretty well to be honest, apart from the handlebars, they got pretty badly bent so I had to replace them, no real big deal, replaced them fine...HOWEVER.

I think I've blown a wire or shorted something out when hooking the wires back up.

My dial (speedo/rev counter/battery/fuel gauge etc do not work. That is unless I turn on the high beams, at which point it all works fine. (Accept the speed reads 0.

I'm no electrician, but if I had to guess, it kinda sounds like one of the plugs isnt making a contact correctly somewhere. (Possibly the earth wire) at least until the high beams are turned on.

Does this sound like a connection issue, or did I fry a wire somewhere.

I did get two of the plugs the wrong way round as I was putting it back together and the dial showed a big EE, The ignition wasnt even on at the time.

It also shows the EE after the dial goesthrough the usual startup once you turn on the high beams.

Any advice or hints would be appiciated, thankyou Smile

It's most likely an earth connection that isn't connected. Work out which colour is used for earth and trace it, or find an earth wire up in the instrument panel cluster and run a new wire from it to the frame.

When you put on the high beam, it can earth everything through the high beam earth wire, which must be separate.

For a really quick and dirty test, run a wire from the battery negative terminal to a metal part of the handlebars and you'll probably see everything start working.
