Smart fortwo 451 sam unit

Hi guys
I have this smart 05 . it wont start code p1030 no comunication. Is it the sam or the can that is at fault. When i turn it on the sam is clicking and there is clicking in the engine bay as if the fuel pump is energising. My machine mx808 cant talk to it.. I thought it was just a immortaliser code issue.
What do you think.
Any ideas

The sam is the control unit not sure what the can does.
