I didn't have a problem with the census (was tempted to put Cornish) but I recently filled out some paperwork for my local GP. Along with all the usual BAME options were British and Scottish British (huh?) so I ticked other and wrote "English" in the box. I'm sure Welsh ppl wouldn't be impressed with the form either.
