Clapping

Bitter civil war over deputy leader Watson as Labour conference begins

Just when you think they might do something to make themselves electable they have another round of self destruction..

Thank you Labour, for continuing to be the most unelectable bunch of cvnts at a time when you should be walking into No.10

What fantasy world do Labour live in?

32 hour weeks?! So either employers need to increase hourly rate by 20% or far more people enter poverty.

I’m struggling to believe all the yapping dog comrades can’t see why this can’t work in the real world, outside of the mind of a rampant socialist.

I seem to remember hearing of a 3 day week being forced by militant lefties before I was born. I’m led to believe it wasn’t pleasant.

It's so obvious they're simply saying anything that might grab them a few extra votes. Then, once in power (ha!) they will do whatever they please and not keep any election promises. Conservative are famous for doing it so why not the rest..

I predict something with Labour. I think they will implode. I think they will shatter into smaller groups with extreme views which will prevent them reforming as a strong party.
Traditionally they rose from manual workers but they've lost that vote now. The bitterness felt towards them up here in the North East is staggering. Call it hatred.

They really are hopeless!

https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/av/uk-politics-49803448/confusion-as-labour-rejects-backing-remain-in-a-future-vote

https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/av/uk-politics-49787105/corbyn-we-will-make-sure-britain-has-trade-relationship-with-europe

Leaving aside their disregard for democracy (a common theme across all parties), a vote for Labour is a vote for.... um... Thinking We still don't know.

The bit about "abolishing" private schools is interesting... if you read carefully.

Effectively what they're suggesting is nationalising private schools. Why? To hurt the privileged elites? No, just common or garden theft Evil or Very Mad

They're going to redistribute all the gifts, bequests and trust funds; "here, have some money and name the new chemistry lab after me" sort of thing. Nope, you're not allowed to give money (or buy your kids a place) to a top private school you're meant to give it to the state so they can "target deprived areas" (i.e. buy votes.)

What exactly is the point of earning money and becoming successful if you can't buy your own kids a better future. Where's the incentive to become great?

They don't want great people, that's exactly the point. They want drones. People held static in exactly the right amount
of poverty to keep them obedient. In a kind of "It's this... Or nothing" type of way.

The labour party died when Blair took over. We used to have an adversarial system based on ideologies and socialism wasnt a dirty word. Labour generally was for the normal working man, not any more. Hijacked by the extreme left, relying on the Tories to implode without having any realistic policies of their own. The whole political system has crashed down. When Labour need a leader we get Corbyn and Abbot. Watson would be a better bet, but the next krystal nacht will do for him.
You're right MPD, the parallels are a bit frightening.

I quite like the comparison by Labour of people who voted to leave to the far right.
Luton voted leave with a bigger margin than the rest of the country as a whole. Luton.

It's like a socialists' shopping list to Santa. All the very worst ideas are being trotted out 'cos hey, they can't lose at the next election can they? Thinking

You'd think that the Clinton vs Trump debacle would have taught the Left you can't pile on the poison and expect the electorate to swallow it.

I've just had a glance at The Morning Star. I had to double check the dates of the articles to see which century they were written!

A simple question: when/where has extreme left-wing socialism ever worked?

Usually its upper middle classes who support it because they don't understand that because their life is easy, a quick wave of the magic wand isn't going to make that the case of all of society.

Exactly, weird isn't? Not only that, but they say they support the policy, and they collectively have the means to bring the policy about, yet they do not do so! From this we can only draw one conclusion.

As an example: Could not Owen Jones give all of his wealth to the poor? But no, he declines to do so!
