Polo grew up in a household with NHS workers for parents - you want a bike? I'll take you into a few wards to meet some people.

Polo didn't get a bike.

Polo got a fiance, his own house. As bills settled down, Polo said he wants to pass his bike test. Now wife says she most certainly does not like that idea.

Polo passed DAS and bought a Fireblade as his first bike.

Be more Polo.

*Polo is now dead from the neck up. Crying or Very sad

the general consensus seems to be that you need to be more dominant/alpha.

hint: my dog used to show these desirable qualities by humping any other dogs that he came across into submission.

you need to practice this. ideally by bending the wife over a motorcycle of your choice, and showing her whos the daddy.

Prove to her that you CAN mix cross-plies and radials

Instruct her in the ways of the electric ear-trumpet

Bounce her like a satsuma marinaded in EP-90

etc.

etc.

Common in teenagers and young adults, yes. I'm not trying to be a dick, but some perspective is important.

Wifie doesn't like bikes and has never and will never get on the back of my bike.

She doesn't have any issues with the kids getting on the back where necessary. It only ever happens when the car isn't available because I don't have anything that fits them aside from helmets.

In all seriousness and my humblest apologies as this should have been addressed long before now.

Plus also, were this issue to be addressed according to the correct BCF guidelines, I vouchsafe that it would be entirely appropriate to punch 'er in the tits, and moreover, do 'er up the gary

What do you want on your epitaph?

"Died in motorcycle accident doing what he loved" sounds dramatic. But if "died in his sleep of dementia, lying in a puddle of his own piss" has more appeal then maybe bikes aren't for you Wink

PostPosted: 17:35 - 22 Apr 2021    Post subject: Advice I've seen. Reply with quote

I've seen this a few times on forums and you tube and it's pretty difficult situation. People who answer fall in between the "fuck her no fucking bitch tells me what to do. " To ," I love my wife and hate to see how stressed and upset this makes her" and everything in-between. Now this may seem strange but from stuff I read a lot of the time it may not be about the bike but the relationship the person has with thier other half. I saw a video by a youtuber and he summed it up like this

If -

You have taken proper training
Bought full decent gear
Bought a "sensible" bike
Have taken out enough life insurance to ensure family will be provided for
And pursuing motorcycling will not put the family under financial strain ( basically you can't afford to do it)

He says if these critera are met and your partner won't budge then you may well be in a bad or controlling relationship.

Or

Your wife is naturally an anxious person and hates the thought of living without you !

There are so many reasons and factors that come I to play unfortunately there is no one solution. I would suggest just do the training go full CBT then full license you will get loads of time on a bike and hopefully everytime you come home alive it will eliminate her worried and she may come round.

Also you have missed the boat on how to really get a bike. Don't ask just buy as the saying goes

It's easier to ask forgiveness than permission !

Edit - My training school offer motorcycle storage and they have a container of bikes hidden by guys who's wives don't even know they ride !

Good luck.

Acknowledge her feelings. Go ahead anyway.

Take out life insurance that pays a million £.

That way she'll soon get over your being deaded on the motorbike.

I've also heard that wealthy widows soon attract a new partner, so it's a win all round Thumbs Up

My missus will no longer fly and being the wandering explorer type I thought that would be a problem.

We holiday in the UK by renting a cottage & useing that as a base to wander & explore the nearby sites.

Now we're both happy. We compromised.

If any of you is in an unhealthy relationship (& I suspect a few of you are) then getting out of it does not always mean a split as the first port of call to solve the problem.

It's got nothing to do with being "alpha", fucking stupid thing to say you moron. "Humping someone into submisssion" is a crime, so I would advise against it... absolute idiot. Absolute idiot.

Yeah, British/Celtic humour isn't for everyone. Easy to forget we have a small international contingent Smile

I hope you're not suggesting we ban humour because some of it might upset someone who can't discern that it is such?

Depends on the circumstances. If you shout "Surprise", first it's all good.

I now see giving someone a "funny" karma rating partly as instructional.

I get that its humor but its also not really very funny. IDK I've never been impressed by people swinging their dicks around talking about how "alpha" they are (they tend to be quite pathetic humans in general) and mysoginistic jokes just aren't very funny.
