We had something similar last year selling my wifes car, he pointed out an issue after a test drive and inspection, I knew nothing of what he mentioned and did try to find a cause of the issue. But I couldn't find anything. So the ball was in his court.
We then negotiated based on the inspection/test drive and off he went with the car.

He then messaged my wife the next day saying how the car definitely has an issue (the one he mentioned after the test drive) and he wants to chat about options once his mechanic can look at it properly.

My wife made the mistake of replying, on his 3rd message I took over and was frank to him, "you inspected and test drove the vehicle, based on the findings of this you made an offer which I accepted", I explained the transfer of the v5 and cancellation of insurance etc was done at our end and that as far as I was concerned the sale was concluded. He did reply, but I ignored and blocked him.

I felt horrible, I am not like this normally, but with things like this you have to nip it in the bud before you can scammed.

To me it sounds like your buyer has changed his mind on the sale and is trying to get something out of you.

Block him is my advice.

He's gone from "I'm not stopping" once proceedings start to increasing money demands post application.

Now being demanded more than three times the original amount of money asked for.

This is fast progressing into what feels like criminal extortion?

Block him.

Why are you even bothering with his pointless lying messages?

I'll say it again.

Block. Him.

Now who's running the book. I'll have a tenner on the OP eventually saying he's capitulated having ignored all of the sensible advice he's been given.

Yes I know, crap odds but what are you going to do?

No thanks mate, I've already pegged OP as the type of guy that the Police gives the old "if you tell us everything we will put a word in with the Judge" routine and then he collapses through his own arse and grasses everyone up. Laughing

What reason do you have for keeping his number open? I cannot see a single one - he's bought your bike. It's his. He has no comeback. His increasing desperate threats are a mechanism to attempt to part a fool from his money.

Unless it's just to string people here along of course...
