There's a similar railway bridge near me with brightly painted metal protectors, height clearly marked... regularly trashed Rolling Eyes

The daft thing is it's single lane with traffic lights either side so at least 50% of the time someone's had a good few minutes to eyeball the sign and go "nah, it'll be fine!" Laughing

I watched that channel a few weeks ago ( knew about it long before) and learned that they had lifted the railway track. The extra clearance meant they could lift the metal beam 8".

I see comments about the extra clearance not being enough.

I don't think they lifted the track to help road traffic. They lifted the bridge to level the track into the platform. The extra road headroom was a fringe benefit.

I think most of the traffic that blooters the beam is hire trucks. They must have a High Pass rate for truck steerers in the states.
