Hi all, new user to the forum and hoping for some advice/opinions.

Bought my bike a little while back and it came fitted with a SW-Motech GPS bracket as part of the tourer kit I got added. This is what I believe the exact product is though for some reason they have specified an exact bike in the link, though I've got a Kawasaki Z1000SX.
https://www.fc-moto.de/en/SW-Motech-GPS-mount-for-cockpit-Black-Kawasaki-Versys-1000-15-17

I've been looking all over for a phone holder that would be viable for this bracket, but can only find holders that want to get wrapped around the handle bars which isn't an option for me. My phone is a Hauwei p30 lite, so is a similar size to some of the newer iphones/samsungs but obviously not many products say they support the Hauwei devices just because they are not listing them, not because they are not viable.

I then started looking at actual Sat Navs as in the description of the Mount it says it fits many "current models" of sat nav, yet their website sells phone covers for iphone 6 and no higher. Looking on Amazon for Sat Navs and hoping to see the back of them, for how they are mounted and where the screws appear its giving me a bit of a headache.

Any thoughts or advice on Sat Nav systems, or phone/gps holders that would be viable for this mount?

Thanks in advance!
Matt

I had exactly the same mount on my Versys which I used for a Tom Tom Rider 400. The holes shown in your picture of the bracket will take most Sat Nav mounts. The plastic mount that came with the Tom Tom bolts onto the plate shown and you can rotate it through 90 degrees if you want to have the sat nav vertical which I prefer.

Thanks for the response!

Good to know and i'll be less worried about a SatNav that wont fit the bracket then!

If anyone has had experience with a phone holder with this bracket? Would be great to hear, as much as I think I probably will end up dropping some money on an actual Sat Nav, I'd have quite liked to keep it cheap and cheerful and use the Sav Nav on my phone.

Horses for courses but Google maps with bluetooth earbuds works for me just fine. I dont think id want another distraction for the eyes anyway, turn by turn directions in my head and the phone in my pocket does the job

That looks like that could be a very nice option Weasley! Will look into it!

Very true TaffyTDM, had considered that, but I do like having the visual to glance at quickly when driving in my car to get an idea for the road ahead figured I'd probably prefer the same thing, but point taken, certainly an option to keep it cheap Smile

Thanks guys, appreciate the responses!
