After its recent tarting and Covid hiatus
Got it MOT'ed today and trotted of to the post office
to register it as site of special scientific interest,
area of outstanding natural beauty, listed building
whatever
No moar rode tax!

Yet another CX ruined by some bodger ruining a perfectly servicable bike in the name of 'fashion.'

Look at that top box, may as well have put a shopping trolley wheel at the front.

and as to the colour scheme, I can't think of anything more gairish and not in keeping with the bike.

Seeing that picture takes me right back. All the things I'd forgotten about, the sideways gear lever, the lights between the clocks and the rubber anti ride off doodah on the side stand.

Comfiest bike I ever owned, my first big bike as well, loved it.

Yes that top box is a bit of an eyesore, will be changing it for
a nice wicker one with leather straps soon to match the one
I have in mind for the front.
It'll all go nicely with the beaded seat cover I've ordered.
Mock the paint work all you like but what with rubbing down and priming
and all it took me nearly an hour to do all that!
I'd only stopped for tea, toilet, snack and fag breaks about three or four times,
I was knackered.
Offers in the region of twelvty thousand guineas invited for this classic tea room saunterer.

As my great-great uncle Fujpakka used to say, a plastic maggot without the plastic is still a maggot.

Mine too! First year MOT and Tax free. Freshly painted tank and plastics too Smile

The painting was a bit of a saga. The first guy (local outfit with a good reputation) did a truly shite job which included ruining the decals I provided and a still hadn't sorted it after 6 months. I ended up walking I to their back room and walking off with all my bits eventually.

Second guy did a fabulous job but because of the first muppet I missed the summer last year. Decided to run without the Sabre fairing this year.

They did, 500 and 650 turbo. The 650s are worth a bit now.
