Indeed. An advert appeared on TV the other night, think it was Currys, selling these. In tiny print at the bottom of the screen for the last few seconds of the advert it said something about must only be used on private land with the owner's permission. Really not surprising that loads go out and buy them and with so many swarming all over the cities, people just join the crowd assuming it's OK because others are doing it.

Quite - I've written to Halfords twice on this subject for the same reason.

The knobs at Halfords set me another promo mail on escooters and a had the temerity to include a link to sign their f-ing petition..

Fortunately tough they the offer the option to OPPOSE the legalistion of e-scooters by saying no.. Laughing

What does falling off a skateboard have to do with riding an electric scooter into a 3 year old and seriously injuring them?

It all falls into the same category which is negative PR to butter up the public for more restrictive laws.

So, you're saying that motorcyclists shouldn't need to wear any safety gear, require no formal licensing and no insurance like I want e-scooters to require too?

I literally said they should in line with the more liberal European countries and with escooters I couldn't care less if they did so long as they're roadworthy.

Monkey bikes would make more sense than escooters especially when they were going for less than a grand last decade.

I believe you have to have an app and then scan
a QR code on the scooter to start them up. Seems to be all the rage to whizz around with an obnoxiously loud bluetooth
speaker banging out the choons. I've never used one but have had a good look at them when they are parked.

That's a part quote from my earlier post in this thread. Thinking
