Disappointing places.

We all come on here and talk about where we’ve been, mostly good.

Occasionally we come across a place that is a big disappointment and we tell others on here.
Well today I have been to such a place.

The Motorcycle Museum in North Walsham , Norfolk.
£5 to get in and about ten minutes looking at dirty uncared for scrap!
Most of the bikes had spider shit and birds muck on them
I’d say at least 80% of the bikes were broken/unrepaired/parts missing.
If rust was money, they’d all be rich in there.

The old skinny bald bloke who took my entry money, had the charm of a broken gate post .
It’s more like a breakers yard than a museum.

So where have you lot been to that you would not go back to and not recommend to others?

The place stank and looked like hell.

I’ve never been but I recall browsing the tourist leaflets and finding a pencil museum up north which boasted the World’s second largest pencil. I imagine they once had the first but lost the crown to some upstart.

I had never seen Buckingham Palace until a few years ago. I was on my way to some meeting by tube and the station was near it so I decided to have a quick look. It looks huge on the television but to me it seemed very small in real life (front elevation only I'm talking about).

On the other hand, as someone mentioned Stonehenge earlier, I always think that looks bigger than I expected whenever I go past it.

Tahoe / lake Tahoe was that for us. It was the most unwelcoming overpriced place we've been to date.

You can't actually get to the lake without paying for either the 'beach' charge ( a small section is behind railings) or you need to know one of the owners of the beachfront properties.

Never been less impressed with a place.

We stuck it out for 2 hours and cancelled the hotel and naffed off somewhere far more welcome / picturesque.

Rome.

Maybe it was because it was the height of summer and peak tourist season but:

1. Fucking stank, worse smelling than Venice,

2. Fucking dirty, easily the dirtiest city I've been to in the whole world and that includes some piss poor places in Cuba and Venezuela. Litter everywhere and a fucking dust bowl,

3. Fucking expensive, eating out was expensive and generally fucking sub-par. Went to a restaurant and the waiter said they do pasta better than any restaurant in the whole of the UK. Got a spaghetti carbonara and it was mid as fuck,

4. Fucking crowded, everywhere was jumping with tourists and a load of Africans with their "just for you, my special friend, very good price" generic tat,

5. Fucking boring, you can go to the Sistine Chapel, the Trevi fountain and the Colosseum all in the same day and congratulations you've seen everything of note that Rome has to offer.
