I'm looking for a new lid and I'm just curious what helmet colour do you have and if you match it to your bike, the other day someone was selling theirs because they bought a different colour bike. My currents are all grey.

My helmet is a pale pink. There again, I don't get it out in the sun very often on account of sunburn would hurt.

The guy in my work is the exact same, getting new gear to match the colour of the bike he's going to get.

Just my opinion, but I don't see the point. The public barely notice you by default let alone care about the colour of your gear. You won't even notice as you don't magically see yourself in the third person. The blonde bombshell driving the BMW X5 won't notice you when you're alongside her at the lights either as she is too busy looking at herself in the mirror.

Black goes with everything. Otherwise, who cares.

I find a good lid, find a good fit, then find the cheapest. Often they'll chuck slower selling colours up a bit cheaper. I've had a neon pink MX lid before now, as it was half the price of an identical lid in black, red or blue.

I've never noticed the colour whilst I'm wearing it.
I do have a preference for white, just feels to me like I'm more likely to be noticed filtering above car rooflines etc than darker colours, but that's possibly bollauex as well.

I bought white for visibility, and possibly less likelihood of cooking my head on hot days.

I buy whatever colour costs less than the others, not like I can see it while riding.

I have a bright pink (complete with light up kitty ears) gaming headset for the exact same reason Laughing

I don't care if it matches the bike, it seems silly to buy new kit when you change bikes to a different colour. I just make sure all my gear looks decent together, but that's more because I don't want to look daft off the bike.

I'll wear a helmet in any colour as long as it's black.

I do have a couple of reflective stickers on it, but they're decorative and subtle, and not the lame ones meant for riding in France.

He was setting the helmet, tank bag and soft panniers, all in matching blue Very Happy My kit is all black or grey so I never considered whether it matches or not before, blue now I just get a deep cherry helmet I think Laughing

Color matching gear to your bike might be a bad idea, but I did it anyway (sort of).
Maybe I should have picked more neutral colors, so when buying a new motorcycle I don't have to limit my color choice.

Helmet, no. Although I did match my newest jacket but only because the one I wanted happened to be in the same colours. Wasn’t actively looking to match it.

I am fixing to make myself the most hated biker in the UK by getting one of those neko helmets with the lights in the ears, getting it full-colour ahegao wrapped and then doing this mod to the visor:

I read years ago that white helmeted riders were less likely to be involved in crashes than others, whether that is due to visibility or just only nerds wear white helmets I don’t know, but it’s stuck with me and I’m white helmets all the way just in case.

When I was a kid in the 90s I always saw myself riding a black bandit with jeans and plain black leather jacket, white Simpson RX8 with a black visor. I’ve got a licence, jacket and jeans now, bike is more orange than I’d planned, but I might get one of the newer Simpson helmets one day, they still looks cool to me.

No, my gear isn't specifically matched to my bike.

However I am in the market for some new leathers and have been looking to avoid red colours as it won't suit my bike, but also because I'm not keen on red leathers.

Out of interest anyone gone from a black helmet to a white helmet and noticed if the colour has had any impact on your head temperature on a sunny day?

Had and still have a mostly black helmet. It's normally my balls that get sweaty.

For quite a few years I have ridden abroad in a black lid.In 2005,2014 and 2016 specifically I rode in very hot climates and regretted wearing it,despite it being a well ventilated Arai.

So for a ride around frogland in 2017 I bought a white Arai and found it ideal for riding in upwards of 38c in places around the south of that country

I like Arai’s and flamboyant paint jobs (Haga, Thierry van den Bosch, Nakano reps) but I didn’t like the recent colours from any manufacture so I went for plain white (which was also the colour of my first helmet) and I like it. My niece did note it had “sparkles” in though. I’ve never liked black helmets and I’ve never thought about colour-matching to the bike(s). I use helmets well beyond the manufacturer’s suggested “expiry” too.

How many times do I have to tell you that those pictures were for your own use only and shouldn't be shared with over people.

I have always tended to buy black / mainly black helmets regardless, and my S2r is silver and the 748 is white.

I am looking for a new lid and am tempted by another monochrome one (black, grey, white), not because it will match my bikes, but just because... However, is having 2 Ducatis and a lid that says Ducati on it a bit sad??
