Based on the information you have given us on the type of riding you are doing, what you like in a motorbike, what your licvence allows you to ride and your riding experience.

I think you should buy an Ural 750 with a right hand sidecar and a powered sidecar wheel with optional deep water snorkel attachment and a caravan trailer... Or a postie bike.

Not enough information really. On that basis I'm going to recommend a 2009 Street Triple R 675, as it's clearly the best bike in the world.

Or a Hayabusa.

Or a CR500.

Or a Pan-Am Spyder.

Need a bit of info for what you're qualified for and what it's going to be used for Wink

By the way, we get it. You're American, you're in Australia. That is STILL not enough information.

WHat will you use the bike for? How far will you go in a journey? Where abouts in Australia are you based? Will you be taking pillions? are you likely to go off road? are you likely to do a trackday? Do you want a specific feature that the Monster has that other bikes don't have? Do you want a specific look? Do you want a specific riding position? Do you want a specific tank range? Do you need to be near a specific dealer or have a certain maintenance interval?

I've just scratched the surface, but 'I'm an American living in Australia what bike should I buy?' doesn't really cut it. From that information buy a Harley, that's what Americans like isn't it? *shrug*
