Dreamers. Utterly, utterly broke (like you wouldn't believe) dreamers, to be specific.

Broadband in this case, but generally if that’s the case why am I tied to an 18-month contract?

always used to be able to leave without any penalties if providers raised the prices. have they changed the rules?

It's that CPI + 4% or whatever every 12 months that the major players put in their T's & C's.

EE have changed their terms so that even if you are out of contract they can still raise it. I've been on a multiple phone contract with mine and wifies for years and next month they are raising the prices by above amount. I will leave. What's his face can stuff his EE up the tailpipe of that fcuking jet landing in his livingroom.

Working from home today, I've been disturbed most of the afternoon by an intermittent beeping noise. Finally went to investigate and found it was a sealed CO alarm, whining that it was now 'end-of-life'. No way to silence it, apparently, so what to do? - was really busy at my desk, it's quite robust so can't destroy it without going out to the garage for tools. So, just dropped it in a jug of water - sorted.

But no. Half an hour later the bloody thing is still bleating away underwater in the kitchen. It's now going out the back door.

20 seconds in the microwave should do the trick.

Amazons search algorithm. Fuck it's shit. You search for something really specific and it shows you all sorts of shit that's not that. Most annoying when it's stuff that's a really specific size like nuts and bolts. If I'm searching for M6 bolts, there is absolutely no point showing me M8 bolts.

It so is - beggars belief really, for a company that size. Ebay gets a lot of my business for bits and bobs like that because its tickboxes and search tools are far better than Amazon's. Also, unlike Amazon it's search box accepts proper logic search strings, so you can use those to home in on what you're after.

I only use them because of the next day delivery thing. Like when I'm working on the bike and need an 0.083 fathom x 35/64" British Standard parping couplet or the project can't progress any further. The trouble is finding it on the full page of AF size parping couplets, glitter nail polish and mobile phone cases.

The only time I resort to Amazon is when I need next day delivery (I have Prime.) I wonder if the jumbled search is intentional to get you to buy more stuff.

Doesn't work with me.. very seldom use Amazon cos of shite-arsed search, 'sponsored items' shown first etc.. Ebay is 10x better.

Being forced to Poo Poo in a public toilet.

I have a few strategies up my sleeve to make a visit more endurable.

Had a rather unpleasant verbal encounter with a (new?) neighbour in my street yesterday which has left me a bit shaken (rare for me!) and somewhat wary.

Not quite sure what to do, he seems unfazed by the prospect of police intervention (who were called out to a fight he was involved in last weekend). I haven't reported it to the police but I'm definitely not planning to engage him in future conversations Rolling Eyes

He has the same intensity as the Don Logan character in Sexy Beast.

The girl upstairs from me has given me an attack alarm. I feel slightly better.

Me too. Mad

Its just a shame he threatened my bike/s... Rolling Eyes

I don't really mix in the same circles as I used to, so I don't have quite the capacity for "stroppy back-up" these days as I used to. I wouldn't want any of my friends past or present to engage on my behalf with this horrid little scrote though, because going to prison for crushing a scumbag like this underfoot would just not be worth it.

He'll get himself into some sort of strife reasonably soon, I'm pretty sure. He's the type that is genetically destined for constant aggro.

Just a matter of waiting it out till he fucks it up for himself with his seriously bad attitude Karma

The TV show Woodland Workshop on Quest.

What a lot of ham fisted crap.

The only one who made anything even remotely competently was the metal working woman who made a bar b q. Even then it was pretty crap.

Get a diary , make a note of all & everything if this becomes an issue.
Don’t tell him you are using a diary as he may find this provocative and you will possibly become his point of focus.
It might help later when the authorities/whoever become involved.
As you already said ! Not engaging with the little scrote is the best policy.

I had shitty neighbours many moons ago and it’s really difficult to fight back as they know where you live and what car/bike is yours parked out on the street.

I was non engaging but polite as I could be under the circumstances.
Eventually they lost interest and went and caused trouble with someone else.

Eventually they were evicted and cars & bikes in our street stopped getting damaged.

£650 to put 2 coats of brilliant white on a small kitchen (walls only)? That's what you're gonna quote me? No thanks.
Looks like I'll be wasting another weekend doing everything myself.

Gears oiled because I haven't seen her in ages and gears ground because she's getting old and decrepit. Sad

She's so blind now and just crashes into things unless you guide her and she's got such a blank expression that looks almost emotionless compared to how she used to be.

Can tell she's still completely happy just not as enthusiastic.

I had a Cocker, it was crackers as a puppy. I thought it might calm down a bit as it got older. Nope. It was always demented right up until she karked it.

Amazing fun to teach her to sniff out weed, could have got a lot of people in trouble.

Needed a bit of aluminium flatbar for tomorrow and can't get to a shop because of work.

Turns out you can order them off amazon. Only really needed one piece but minimum order was two lengths so I ordered two because it always comes in handy. Seems reasonable because it's a numb thing to deliver for the cost of it.

Box arrived today (a fairly big box, it's 1.2m long). Only one piece in it. Check amazon, second piece is being delivered tomorrow. Rolling Eyes
