Some problems are only problems because you see them that way.

I sympathise with that guy's problem because it has an immediate impact on his plans and his life. While it's possible he may find a silver lining in this situation, the urgency and immediacy of the change in plans and situation forced by a serious crash are extraordinary. I read what happened, and it captured my thoughts for a while, whereas before I was dwelling on the neighbours fighting across the road (they've never done that before so it disturbed my peace). Therefore, I wished him a swift recovery. Nothing deeper than that.

Reminds me of conversations with my mother. She's always having a moan up about how bad everything in her life is - especially since Covid - I do fire back "you think you've got it bad, what about the rest of us?!" to which she angrily responds "yes, but I don't care about anyone else" Rolling Eyes Next call I'll try and pluck up the courage to respond "...then you need to learn humility" Shocked

I still have no feeling in my legs. They say it could be swelling and should calm down but I'm being examined more today as my wrist has decided that it may also want in on the action and has swollen up, so may have been a bit screwed also.

Will do anything to get closer to a wumin. Rolling Eyes

Conventional wisdom would be that you’ve gotta do everything you’re ever going to do by 30 and then spend the next 40 years waiting. Sod that, good on you. Get well soon though.

Why did 5 paramedics turn up? Did you get a helicopter ride?

This makes me giggle. It's Paddy, my cat could carry him.

Paddy, for future reference, you are cursed. Anything that could end in serious injury, will end in serious injury.

That said, if you get an electric wheelchair, I know a guy who can make it really fast.

Annoying isn't it?
It's on a par with me bleating on about not being able to wander into my local retailers for a ps5.

Someone called 999. Ambulance ETA was 5 hours.

Some teenager was angry at that and said even if they turn up, they won't get him out, calling fire brigade. They turned up, made me comfy and pushed ambulance to attend. Apparently was low priority, turns out I'd paralysed my legs and after another dig they've found 2 cracked vertebrae, T11 and L4. So I was on muscle relaxants last night and this morning I have movement in both feet, not legs though, so a slow steady return.

But yes. Am cursed, hence bike has just gone up for sale Laughing

Well that sounds hopeful! I think I'm right in saying if you can move your feet the rest will be back eventually Thumbs Up

You'll be back up and around in no time. Possibly not the time to sell the bike just yet?

The sale was happening 7th July when insurance lapses anyway, this just helped push it, I certainly won't be riding it before end of policy.

It was a skateboard Ste. Brand new one, custom, 15 minutes use. Laughing

we live in a semi rural area and a neighbour 2 doors away likes to shoot the wood pigeons. we often hear him firing his gun, in his back garden, throughout the day. he also shoots pigeons out of the trees, on the opposite side of the street, from his front garden. my partner watched him shoot one last week, from his front doorstep, and just leave it flapping around in the road to slowly die, after it fell out of the tree, which upset her. this annoyed me when she told me, ive nothing against killing pests, but leaving them to die slowly is just cruel, in my book.
this morning, we were sat in the back garden, enjoying the nice weather, when said neighbour shot a pigeon that was sat in the tree in our back garden, about 20ft from us. it fell onto the lawn and flapped its wings for a few seconds before going still. this upset my partner quite a lot, shes an animal lover and a big softy.
seeing my partner upset got me angry and i shouted out to the bloke, asking him what the hell he thinks hes doing. we all have high fences so cant see each other. i never got any answer.
i bagged up the bird, it was a nice clean shot through the head, and binned it, then stormed off to confront the bloke. unfortunately my temperature was up, so i wasnt quiet, and i imagine a few people in the close heard me. the bloke denied it was him, which made me more angry. anyway i left, telling him that if i see him out front with his rifle any more im reporting him.
i just cant believe someone would be stupid enough to shoot into other peoples gardens. the neighbour is in his 60's id guess, not some dopey teenager.
the pellet could have ricocheted and hit one of us, and who knows where its landing after it has passed through the bird.
enthusiasts follow all the laws and make every effort not to upset people, but one idiot like my neighbour can undo years of good work.
it really annoys me.

If he doesn't desist, be assured the police have absolutely no sense of humour about this kind of thing at all.

The pellets are not allowed to leave his property. He is absolutely not allowed to fire across a road. In fact, he's not allowed to fire within 15 metres of the centre of a highway.

For the purposes of the law, as soon as you start breaking laws with an air rifle, they are treated as if they are a firearm.

My gears are being ground by scumbag companies who are top of the Google search list for SORNing my vehicle. They will happily do so - for about £25! To add insult to injury they offer a speedier service for a fiver more that does it quicker!!! The government website does it instantly too - and for zero charge! Dirty robbing bastards, preying on people with the clever website that looks about the same as DVLA’s. It’s a cracking business model though, max profit for zero effort…
