Well are you or not? I'm thinking of taking a sh1t.
Just like all the For Sale ads in Facebook groups. Usually met with, well, when you make your mind up, come back with a proper ad. |
You totally didn't get that post in the context of this thread, did you?
Hint: this isn't the bikes for sale section ____________________ Chickenystripgeezer's Biking Life (Latest update 19/10/18) Belgium, France, Italy, Austria tour 2016 Picos de Europa, Pyrenees and French Alps tour 2017 Scotland Trip 1, now with BONUS FEATURE edit, 5/10/19, on page 2 Scotland Trip 2 Luxembourg, Black Forest, Switzerland, Vosges Trip 2017

It wasn't specifically about you, it was about almost every car/bike for sale ad on Facebook now, which almost always now starts with "I'm thinking of selling.."
Grinds my gears. Hence the post.
I'm thinking of selling anything if the price is right. |
Well, give me a minute* and I'll see if I can find anyone who cares what you think. I'll get back to you if I have any luck.
*I better warn you: I reckon it'll take quite a bit longer than that actually ____________________ Chickenystripgeezer's Biking Life (Latest update 19/10/18) Belgium, France, Italy, Austria tour 2016 Picos de Europa, Pyrenees and French Alps tour 2017 Scotland Trip 1, now with BONUS FEATURE edit, 5/10/19, on page 2 Scotland Trip 2 Luxembourg, Black Forest, Switzerland, Vosges Trip 2017

I've been working too bloody hard lately.
And I can tell you now, I Do Not Like It.
I've always loved working, I love the buzz when it's going right, and I even quite like having to work out how to solve fuck-ups (most of the time). I like a bit of a challenge
But for the first time in ages (literally decades) I am starting to feel like I don't want to keep working like this all the time.
But I can't stop, cos people want/need/rely upon.
Most frustrating.
I really need to take a little breather.
I am not irreplaceable. Need to remind myself of that. ____________________ Not nearly as interesting in real life. |

TaffyTDM wrote: | Last night I had to ride back from a mates house in the middle of some very heavy rain. The bike battery chose that evening to give up as well so using the heated grips or full beam was out of the question, as it then kept loosing all the electrics...
So it was whilst I was fording through invisible surface water on NSL roads so bad I couldn't see my hands, soaked through and freezing with an hour and 20 to go that some twat driving a lorry decided to pass me through the same stretch of water in lane 2, wiping out my vision again and soaking me from head to toe. How I kept upright last night I still don't know .
Worse still was not daring to stop for a warm up coffee having been bump started and unknown if it would turn over again. |
I had a similar experience last night except in my new car... I was driving home on the M4 in the worst rain I've ever driven in, and my flipping windscreen wiper blade came off. Luckily it was the passenger side, bur I've just had a new windscreen and I didn't want it to scratch. I had to nurse the car to the services about a mile away without being able to see. I used the wipers once or twice to just clear the window and I got to the services. I had to get out to fix the blade and got soaked to the skin. I was wearing linen martial arts trousers and a thin cotton T shirt. So I got the car going again and was able to see but my air con doesn't work, so the windscreen was now misting. The de mister just blasted hot air in my face but at least I was moving. I was going down a country lane towards my house, not fast, but about 50mph in a NSL road. I rounded a corner and there was what looked like a semi large puddle on the left hand side of the road. Turns out, it wasn't a semi large puddle but a complete flood which I then hit in my low slung car at 50mph. I then aquaplaned over towards an oncoming car . I swung the wheel over and I could feel the 4WD system wake up a bit... and it saved me... just.
That was not the best journey I've ever done. I realise that at least I was inside a car and mainly dry, but I was very much on the edge of crashing for most of the drive in the way that I only know through riding bikes in the pissing wet or sub zero temperatures. I'm sure many people have had worse journeys on bikes and I'm not belittling that, but I'm still recovering from my particular journey a day later. ____________________ British beauty: Triumph Street Triple R; Loony stroker: KR1S; Track fun: GSXR750 L1; Commuter Missile: GSX-S1000F
