I have a credit card with a fairly poor APR but a good points/cashback thing so I almost always pay off the whole balance each month. Just this one time I only pay off half and I get a letter blathering on about "we notice your account is in persistent debt" huh? There's always a balance on the card but as it's almost always paid off does that count as persistent debt?

Anyhoo, not even in March (when I'd make the next payment) and I get another letter thanking me for not being in persistent debt. Errr... And on top of that I get a notification for a digital letter saying they've increased my credit limit by a bag.

Their computers must be on drugs.

Sorta... the online account for the card has its own message inbox for "digital letters" i.e. a PDF file instead of a physically printed letter.

I live sort of next to a school. Parking is at a premium so parents pitch up half an hour early so they can park. They then sit there with the car idling looking at Facebook for half an hour. The council has put a number of “turn your engine off, we don’t all want to breath your shit” type signs but the idiots don’t take any notice.

And I bet they're parked on the wrong side of the road with their lights on too. Dick heads.

Today, I went hiking. Bruises and scabs on both of my shins, ... but it was worth it. Now, just as I got back home, I dropped my digital camera right on the pavement, chipping off a bit from the top of the camera body. Mad

At least the camera seems to be still fully functional, and the rather expensive lens didn't get even a scratch on it, but still. I mean, the kind of hiking I did today, snow, ice, rocks, mud, climbing... the camera in my hand the whole time, nothing happened to it... then I drop it on the ground right in front of my house! Mad

I hope the images I took today are at least somewhat in focus and well exposed. Smile

EDIT: The images came out alright. I reduced the image resolution, so I could upload them here. It's in Jesenik mountain range, CZE. The river I followed today is called Bila Opava. I took the hard trail through the valley to get up there and the easy trail on the crest to get back down to my car. I've started my trip at 850m above the sea level, reaching 1250m above the sea level. The trail I took was about 11km total. The highest peak there is the Praded, 1491m above the sea level. I've got more pictures, but I'm not gonna spam the BCF.

The dahlia bulbs I orderd, I have never seen more difficult to identify top from bottom dahlia bulbs before, and not a hint of green growth. It's like they were selected just for how symmetrical they looked.

I'm gonna have to plant them horizontally to avoid putting them in upside down.

Could you put 'em in a seed tray for a bit, plant them after the roots start sprouting?

They will sort it out themselves. Plants are smart that way.

My crocuses were a great show this year.
I think skwirrils or fkn slugs have got at my hyacinths.
I noticed that the flowers are beginning to open yesterday.

Green fingers crossed.

So long as they're not dug in too deep, the bulb should have enough energy to push the shoots up to the sun.
It might delay things a little.

I think I put my dahlias in too deep last year/year before, they never came up. Then I didn't lift them for the winter cos I couldn't remember where I planted them as they didn't come up Shocked

Guess that's them fucked, then Laughing

My spring bulbs are starting to show their faces though. Some anemones and hyacinths in a little basket are about to get showy, hopefully by the weekend and definitely by Easter Dance!

I'm a bit cross that the garden centre has full-grown snakeshead fritillarias out on sale this week, massive they are, and mine (which I planted back in October) haven't even poked their heads out of the soil. I planted at least a dozen, fucking things. I love them, but they won't grow for me.

I'm a medium, 38-40" chest, 32" waist and the same height as Hitler*..
medium, medium, medium..

..and so at the weekend while away I got caught short without enough knickers - so I nipped into the closest supermarket (Asda) for a three pack of 'trunks' sized 'medium' however failed to look closely at the label..

Ripped them opened and pulled a pair on.. WTF Shocked no longer Brad Pitt snug fit - more like Albert bleedin' Steptoe in Jockey Y-fronts...

Turns out 'medium' waist is now 33''-35" FFS !!

*175cm or 5' 8 1/2" for the avoidance of doubt - please do not disregard my precious 1/2"

You sir are very lucky to have proportionate measurements, even if the sizing benchmark has shifted. I am what used to be called 'stout' in tailoring circles, i.e. 5'8" tall but I take the middle ground between L and XL on top, due in part to my expanding waistline but more so to the broadness of my back and the width of my neck. A typical XL fits except the arms, which are always too long. The youngsters won't understand collar sizes, but a 16.5 fits me around the neck but is too tight on my torso. Be grateful you retain your youthful proportions! Very Happy
