I guess you know now how little power is required to get into bother if you're a dick on clutch / throttle. Definitely lucky to get away with that. Better a wake up call like this than not waking up at all.

I do commute on mine, I don't filter, it's never a time trial and i deliberately pick roads that I know won't be clogged full of eejits.

Today i'm off down to Dover for work and if it wasn't for the A1/M25/A2 etc then i'd take the bike but for all of those roads at the times i'm going, the car is safer / preferable.

I would be wary of a cheap pattern stator, unless it's from a company you know and trust. Pain in the arse to change again when a cheap one fails in 4 weeks.

Bit late to read your story, but on one of the first times taking a pillion I unintentionally power wheelied the ninja and scared us both shitless, the wheel came down crooked and the bike went all over the place but managed not to crash. My CB never did any of this nonsense no matter the gear Laughing Simply put, there's certain inputs that big bikes will not forgive.
