This scoots V5 says it red when its actually now white.
As I'm not the official registered keeper yet,
can I include this change of colour on the form before I send off
the V5?
I'm kinda thinking of just doing it and seeing what happens
and hope no jobsworth says 'computer says no'

thoughts? any experience in similar situations folks?

I was gonna suggest crayons til I read more than just the title of the post.

Just register it first. Asking the DVLA to do two things at once is only gonna end in frustration.

Pretty sure I've done it before and it worked. When a V5 gets sent in they do check all the boxes for changes. Possible that they will make a mistake, but that isn't an excuse to not do it.

Don't see why not.

I've actually just given in a V5 with a Change of keeper (and therefore address) and change of taxation class (and declaration of tax request) so we'll see whether both have been done on their return..

I sent it in 3 weeks ago now. And the on-line check hasn't updated so I suppose it's not even been looked at yet.

It took until mid-July ('20) for me to receive my new V5's for a change to historic on a couple of vehicle I sent off for in April '20, the last time I did v5 changes.

DVLA used to be quite quick with their replies and new documents. I sold a bike at the beginning of July and only received an acknowledgement last Saturday, together with a very welcome cheque for a road tax refund. The person I sold it to has yet to receive his new V5.

Thanks
I just sent it off with covering letter explaining the colour discrepancy
and that the frame and engine numbers matched OK
so will see if they play nice.

Re DVLA's turnaround time:
I got the Honda Vision V5 back within a week or so so can transfer it to the new owner online.

Don't expect a speedy reply given the massive backlog of mail the DVLA have to work through.
