As title states, neighbour of mine has recently had his hire bike from 4th dimension and its been stolen, he has no drive or garage so could only park it on the street. He seems to think 4th dimension told him a tracker was fitted for the purposes of potential theft, or a client selling the bike on, and if so, how pinpoint will it be in locating the bike?

cheers

They might fit a tracker.

Not like they're gonna give you access to it to find the bike either so who cares. Seems like a "them" problem if it's been stolen, long as it's insured Wink

That’s all in the past though.

I was curious as to whether they'd track it for him over the phone so he could give the police the heads up, unless its not 4th dimension themselves who track it, and some external company.

All he's been told is its on some system whereby if it passes a camera or parked police unit, itll ping to them that its stolen and must be recovered. It also had H.I.S.S ignition security, so good luck trying to get round that

That’s not a tracker. That’s “it’s been reported to the police as stolen”.

Yeah, that’s automatic number plate recognition (ANPR).
Probably being stripped for parts anyway.
