Just got an email today from my supplier and it looks like the government are paying my next two months electricity bill too. I haven't payed an electric bill since October now.

While I'm not looking a gift horse in the mouth, it's an incredible waste of public money and is making me question all the whinging that's going on in the news about people not being able to afford their energy bills. I can only conclude that they are normally very wasteful of energy.

I have oil heating so that's where some of the payment/discount/grant/whateveritis came from but my total spend on energy in the last quarter has been significantly lower that ever before, to the tune of hundreds of pounds.

I’m in the same boat but to be fair I’m on a fixed tariff until July, albeit for an all-electric household, electric being more expensive than gas due to the pre-processing of the fuel into raw energy.

Been informed another one of my songs will be played on Housemasters Radio.

Plus a few people have bought some tunes too.

More importantly, I've got Monday off.

Had a cheque in the post from my landlord, not huge - but enough to make me feel better. Compensation for them refusing to fix my back fence (which they then decided was their responsibility, not mine)

Small victories Cool

BT upgrade to Halo 900. Painless. New WIFI discs are significantly faster with better signal. Changed the new WIFI name to the same name as the old one with the same password .... everything worked.

First time a tech upgrade has been painless and it's almost a tenner less a month than the old package.

Cancelled FB and Instagram - noise down by 100%.

Next is a drop on the phone contract down to a 12 month PAYG SIM with no more than 10Gb data which is what i actually use.

This has been a good month.

Goigh through pictures that I took yesterday on my cycling trip. This Goldfinch came out nice.
*135mm APSC lens, so I really had to get close.

Also, for this year I switched from 28c to 32c tyres on my road bike, dropping the tyre pressure by 1BAR/14.5psi (both front and rear)... so much comfort, can't even tell any rolling resistance difference. Thumbs Up

Had a nice day helping out some youngpeople mates buy their first car, they needed a driver (me) for the "support" vehicle.

I eventually got home at 3.30 am, tired and fractious, but with a tray of extremely yummy chocolate brownies as a thank you gift Cool Thumbs Up

DVLA have gone full retard.

I bought a bike with no V5 earlier in the year. I sent off the requisite forms to apply for a new logbook, I also included a cheque and a completed SORN form in accordance with their instructions.

Some weeks later I received a letter saying it was being processed. Cheque had been cashed. Some weeks after that I received the new logbook. Two weeks later I received a letter saying I had made a SORN declaration but that I didn't need to and the SORN form I sent them was enclosed, stamped as having been received.

On Friday I received a threatening letter stating that I either need to SORN or tax the vehicle or there could be dire consequences.

This oiled my gears because I will derive great personal satisfaction if they take me to court for failure to declare SORN when I have definitive written proof that I have in fact done so but that they decided not to action it. I can show that they received the declaration, wrote me a letter about it and I have the original SORN form with the DVLA stamp on it showing it was received.

I am going to do nothing further about this until such time as I receive a summons, then I'll happily go to court and make a mockery of them. I have fulfilled my legal obligation in respect to offroad declarations and can prove I have.

What would please me even more is if I do go to court and my case can be used by others to illustrate major deficiencies in their SORN recording system.

When you get to court, refuse to speak to the prosecutor and the dvla bod until you are actually in the dock.

How much is you losing a day's pay going to cost you? There's no reason why you should really use a days leave so they should really pay your lost income for the day.

And then theres the cost on the locum vet they have to bring in to cover your shift...

We'll certainly be covering that in my statement if it goes that far.

George from Microsoft rang my landline today to tell me all about the errors hackers have put on my computer.

Kept him busy for 8 mins 30 secs before "...you're a fucking computer technician?!" beeeeeeeeep... [line dead]

Doing a bit of a Star Trek film marathon at the moment. There's a scene in "The Final Frontier" where an alien is dancing in a bar. Later in the scene revealed to have three knockers Shocked "Well, that's ripped off of Total Recall!" I thought but no, Star Trek V came out in 1989 and Total Recall was 1990.

How many other films feature trilateral titties?

Its what I did the 1st time, just to watch them shuffle hard.

I'd love to do it again but I can't really be bothered to do anything to put myself in that situ, bit stinkwheel armed with that is just hilarious and would probably trigger me to do so.

I thought my daughter would forget Mothers Day, as in Australia it is in May. But I got home this evening to two dozen yellow roses Wub

Also, a consort in America sent me £200, a pencil case and a copy of The Uncommon Reader by Alan Bennett, such a delightful gift, and I am really enjoying it.
