Lovely weekend at the Senior Consort's house, waited on hand and foot, driven about like Lady Muck, pottered in the garden, went to watch some chaps racing around in karts at Bayford Meadows, arrived home today to a parcel of scent samples from Zoologist. Yay.

Oh look, and its a new month, I feel an invoicing coming on! Laughing

Be careful about using those.

It might keep the neighbourhood cats away from the flowerbeds.

I felt it to be appropriate to myself Wink

There really is one called "Civet" Laughing
Should be interesting, must find a sweaty disco to wear it to.

They're probably zoological breeding chemicals.

The science bit:
Pheromones are extracted from the zoo animals that die of natural causes/cruelty/habitat destruction and cetera.
The carcasses are boiled and the vapour produced is distilled by reduction and the pheromone results.

They then spray that on some female of breeding age and in-season.
An unsuspecting male is then introduced into the habitat and immediately pumps the female.

Hopefully, after a period of gestational development, a pup/kitten/calf will be forthcoming.

Well this morning I tried "Seahorse" Shifty but I think I am the wrong gender for seahorse gestation. So far, so good.

There's one called Tyrannosaurus Rex ... Shocked
I'm hoping it smells of patchouli, mossy trees and engine oil (Mini).

Just booked an e-bike trial ride. There are a couple of bar-steward climbs on my daily commute which put me off cycling to work years ago and I've always wondered if an e-bike could assist my fadass to beat these hills without killing me off completely.

Come on ye celts. I got tipsy but I would have been anyway regardless of the football.

Anyway my bike passed it's MOT, guy commented on the number plate, not because it was to small but because it didn't have a official shit of some sort stamp on it.

Anyway 250 is taxed MOT'd and insured again after being in hiding. Great fun, it's like a push bike size.

Anyway that oiled my gears.

I had one try that on me too. No, there was no such regulation in 1992 when this bike was registered and yes, I am allowed a 3 line, portrait format plate with a mildly offensive sticker that came free with performance bikes magazine stuck across the bottom.

They don't seem to realise it's not retrospective and that having the makers name and postcode is a rule for making a new plate, not displaying an old one.

I've never understood the reason for the little stamp of maker/supplier of the reg plate. I don't want to advertise these knobs.

Security innit. So if people print their own, or copy a plate, they won't be able to do it, because they can't possibly ever add a postcode, or add a fake BS kitemark.

I ride around on subtly 'fake' plates on both bikes, 7x5 VRN only no extras. Never once been bothered.

I bought this 34 years ago, and now I've bought it again.

It was a devil of a job finding it in the first place. Recollection fades, and I didn't recall the title or publisher exactly right. Plus I thought it was from 1987 and not 1988. Anyway, this went well. Not just the last thing I bought, but something I've been looking for, for a long time.

Was wandering around the garden centre yesterday, trying to stop haemorrhaging money, when we bumped into the MOST gorgeous bull mastiff. Huge big handsome boy he was - called Cooper, a lovely brindle and only a year old, adorbs Wub

The senior consort hasn't experienced me fussing over Big Dogs, so was highly amused.

As we were getting into our car, Cooper and his mum and dad ended up getting into their car, parked in the space in front of us. Their car was ... a Mini Cooper Laughing Laughing

The sight of the fella leveraging a 56 kg dog into the back of a Mini Cooper was hilarious.

I remember them. You could buy them in English. I used to have a few years, including that one. If I recall they used to have all the Italian and Spanish 125s, stuff we'd only see on holiday. They were like Top Trumps in book form Very Happy

Went into work yesterday and was called off my usual job to shadow a couple of new starters while they learn the job.
Paid to wander around and chat, nice. My boss says that today I'll be doing the same but with three newbs. I've been
put forward for a permanent role as a trainer, minor pay rise but way more social and considerably less work.

Also managed to get the shed roof boarded out and covered with rubber. Delighted with the finish, doddle to install,
just have to tidy up the edges but now it's watertight I can finally arrange MOT the spacker and bring it home.
Saving £84 a month to store it elsewhere, which is approximately the equivalent of my monthly electric and gas bills.

Exactly so. I mean, look at the price tag - 35 francs. That's over £10 in 1988 money... So I treasured this, as a kid. The Italian, Spanish and Soviet now-defunct bike makes with their broad range of endures, trials bikes, various strokers, mopeds, etc. were all a major part of a world that has since disappeared. The bikes that used to be everywhere on the continent. Sports bikes and big enduros (600s were considered big at the time) were also revered. That was when Europe seemed to have a distinct motorcycle culture. Helmets were rarely worn about town, etc. Big aspirational thing for kids and young people at the time. Bikes tolerated and encouraged everywhere, and I would still prefer to own many of the bikes in this over anything newer today.

Spent the best part of a week sharing accommodation with someone who on the last day tested positive for 'rona. Despite this, it appears my immunity is still strong from when I had it a few months ago (triple jabbed too) as no symptoms and negative testing since. First time I've actually had my gears oiled by a 'rona related item.

Related topic; I'd like to think repeat exposure to the virus would maintain immunity to a high level, at least while the dominant variant is the same anyway.

I am rather pleased: 12 more sleeps 'til she gets here Wub Dance!

Today my gears have mostly been oiled by being in a training session about the *exciting* subject of corporate governance.
Nice.

PCP? They're definitely easier to shoot accurately than a springer but I quite like the skill level needed for that - it's really all about lightness of grip. Smile
