I’ve been enjoying the women’s football on telly.* Commendably free of spitting, diving and silly haircuts. The standard of play is high, the England team’s passing and crossing especially so. They make the men’s team look like bored and lazy prima donnas. There’s still a cliched element in the post-match commentary (all that ‘self-belief’ nonsense) but otherwise good.

* Not that. It’s not at all sexy.

Pretty sure I mentioned the lack of toxic masculinity on a different thread.

Yeah, with respect to the crowd cheering the bending of the knee. I’d call that a naive, cliched element but never mind.

Its a shame they all seem to have ponytails in the style of Croydon Facelifts.

Do *any* of them have short hair ... or is it just that they need to have long hair to prove how womanly they really are, despite their masculine gaming skills.

A little lad, looked about 2-1/2 or 3 yrs old, in The Mall of Dahran who just finished his ice cream and was excited to find the man with the rubbish cart to put the empty in the bin.

New Zealand defender Meikayla Moore scores hat-trick of own goals Thinking

Back when I watched football the pace of women's footie was so slow it felt like watching midgets play, except that I might actually watch Laughing I have seen some good goals and passages of play but overall I just couldn't do it. For a total casual I can see why it would be enjoyable, which's probably why the women's game has been so big in the US (they don't really get football and don't pay attention to international sport).

They're still doing it? Confused

Strange though it may seem:
Had a phone call with my mother that was surprisingly chatty and upbeat, all things considered.

I think her boyf is on his last legs and she seems to be coping with it so far. Doubt she will want me to fly down to a funeral, but I will if she does.
Or I can probably get away with sending Anita as the fam rep from abroad Laughing
Still, he might be one of those who battle on looking frail and at deaths door for 10 more years - who knows.

But she was in very good form, I think she's already dusted off her Merry Widow outfit, as she not only mentioned the possibility of needing to buy a new dress for the races, but also whether or not she could get herself to the Melbourne Cup in November Laughing I've already asked Anita to look into possibility of Members Enclosure access.

You can tell she's feeling better: we somehow strayed briefly but memorably onto the topic of foreskins Shocked
Not had that level of conversation with the old girl for years Laughing

Meanwhile the Italian Prof has sent me a link to a very prestigious-looking property that he wants to set up his international clinic in Barcelona. And *of course* he would like me to help him do that in a part-time consultanty-admin kind of way.

Everybody (including the Prof) knows that I am very happy in the new NHS job. So they will all just have to accept that I will fit myself in for each of them with the relevant amount of time available.

So between London, NZ, Australia and Barcelona, I might have to do a bit of travelling while I still have the energy.

Thinking Better purchase the little suitcase on wheels the Senior Consort is always nagging me about.

Today I have not only oiled my own gears - I have creosoted the garden gate. By myself.

Still got about 10' x 3' of fence to do (both sides) but I've started, which is the main thing. Cool
Go me Laughing

Edit: had a snooze, painted one side of the fence before me dinner. Cool Thumbs Up

Rolling Eyes
We didn't quite delve that far.

Whilst considering the situation that men find themselves in when receiving treatment for bladder cancer (tuberculosis up the japs eye), and she mentioned that her fella, when evaluating female company, allegedly uses the expression "I wouldn't even roll my foreskin back for that one" Laughing

On Sunday I applied for my first ever photo driving licence,, Bit awkward as apparently I failed to notify them of my changes of address in 1998 and then 2018
(in fact i did notify them in 2000 ish when I sent the licence away to be endorsed -SP30 -but the change was ignored as it was during the transition to photo-licemnce)

Anyhow it arrived today Shocked ..

..and it cost nothing!! Very Happy

The Spazda passed it's first MOT since I bought it. Clean sheet. I didn't expect a fail, the car's only done 22k miles.
I had to laugh, the tester came out of the workshop and had a thorough wash before getting back into the car and
taking it off the ramp, I thought this was very sympathetic to my cream leather interior.

Pissing all over Parking Eye. Even had a letter from them stating that my invoice for overstaying the parking time has been cancelled. It must have really ground their chips.
