Lazy bastards at work.
There is always atleast one.
We work in gangs of 4. And it is blatently obvious which gangs are better than others.
The one i'm in seem's to work. We have a good mix of lads good at their own things. And a new lad.
Basically we know exactly what, we are best at and don't even need to say, but occasionally, someone will ask to go from one to another.
So our line up normally is:
Me - Tranny,
Brandon - Toplift,
O'dowd - Toplift,
George (new lad) - toplift.
As said we do switch about and basically, a democracy. Where other gangs will argue with each other.
This week has been 'nights' week. So 2 O'dowd and George on nights, me and Brandon on 1400-2300.
Best shift imo. But kicker....
Brandon is on holiday, leaving me with one of the most arogant and argumentive gangs, on me own.
Side note:
2 of these members, once cornered another lad and threatened to kill is whole family.
Yes that bad, but not sacked (something going on).
Anyway back to this week.
Had the shit show of, each of the lazy ass gangs, on my shift.
- Drivers who think they are amazing but shit,
- Drivers who like to try look busy but doing naff all,
- Campers,
- Argue for no reason,
- Ect
You get the picture.
One of them is a new lad who know's absolutely naff all. I mean pess then naff all.
The way it works is:
Pinning - lock off boxes, learn how to put twist locks in,
Tugs - learn the yard, how it works and how to 'read the yard'
Top lift - load trucks, and call stuff.
If you have a decent set of tugs on, there is no need to call anything, because it is there (my fav job).
New driver who skipped the main middle bit and went from dumbass straight too, Top lift, is in one of the worst gangs.
40trucks waiting to be loaded, 'meh al get the bottom one, and sit her for 2hrs'
Today was in Top lift, we had 20 in screen. Between a fuck up on in gate, and stuff coming to us on out gate.
We normally dig stuff out, so when the back log is cleared and it gets hammered through, it is just pick and drop for the full lot.
Lazy bastard, sitting there with a 20ft tank, in the air that is an hour away from being loaded, that I ALREADY DUG OUT!!!
Told the idiot to lob it end of a lane and go digging.
He litterally picked up the one below, and sat there again.
I counted it. 15 trucks loaded by me. He was still sat pulling his little willy.
I've worked alot of places on docks, after giving up steel work.
Anywhere else would have asked him to park up, and taken his gate pass away.
Fucking rediculous.
Can't stand lazy ass people.
Why should I work, to get people away early, when there is idiots like that.
And to top it off.
When I have taken a stand in the past and followed the lazy idiots.
I get dragged in office, because am 'not pulling your weight'
Fucking joke.
Rant over. ____________________ Hello |

I was off to a party in Shepherds Bush on Saturday but I forgot to put on any fragrance, so I nipped into the Mall to see if Perfume Shop had anything decent (no they did not).
I was about to give up on smelling adorable when I spotted a bottle of Eau Arpege for a tenner in a charity shop (Age Concern). I tried it on and it smelled just like I wanted it to ... like my grandmother
The man behind the jump insisted I smell him. He had a very nice fragrance on which was one of my favourites, so we had a good old nag.
PLUS: ... having just coughed out for a new bottle of Fat Electrician the day before, my originally-missing bottle of Une Amourette then turned up in the boot of my ex's car, where it had been since we went down to Salisbury in September.
I am stoked to the max.

Even though I'm back in London, I texted the bloke that we picked up off the footpath when he fell off his bike (in Auckland while I was there) and done his shin bone in down by the ankle. As my mum lives near the hospital I went to visit him and see how he was before I came back to London.
He'd just got his plaster off yesterday and wanted to know if he could have my mum's number so he could take her round some chocolates to say thank you for helping him get out of the traffic and into the hospital. I suggested a couple of things he might gratefully take her for morning tea: muffins and brownie sort of things, that might please a spirited elderly lady.
It will be nice for her, she needs a bit of cheering up after her fella died on Christmas Day, awww. Old bag, she has her kindly moments. ____________________ Not nearly as interesting in real life. |

Today eldest grandson and I finished the redecoration of said grandsons little dinosaurs vivarium. It's now fully bioactive springtails, giant orange woodlice, tropical woodlice, worms and morio worms.
Eldest daughter (his mother) doesn't have a clue that there are all these bugs loose in there along with the feed bugs, locusts and dubia cockroaches. Still, if it all works out it means we don't have to clean him out, the cleanup crew do all that.
Also live succulents and air plants mean it smells so much nicer except grumpy Henry dragon seems to have aquired a taste for them.

All the family liked them, they didn't last very long.
I found the recipe on the internet.
Ingredients
1 tbsp vegetable oil
1 tsp mustard seeds
5 curry leaves
1 onion, sliced
2 green chillies, finely chopped
1 tsp cumin seeds
1 tsp coriander seeds
½ tsp red chilli powder (optional)
½ tsp turmeric
1 tsp salt
2 potatoes, cut into chunks
1 tsp garam masala
Handful fresh coriander, finely chopped
Method
Heat the oil in a pan and add the mustard seeds and curry leaves.
Once the mustard seeds splutter stir in the onions and cook until they turn a light golden brown colour.
Place the coriander and cumin seeds into a pestle and mortar and pound to a powder. Add this, the turmeric, green chillies and chilli powder to the onions.
After a minute, the spices will become fragrant, stir in the potatoes and salt then cook for about 5 minutes.
Reduce the heat and stir in a splash of water. Place the lid on the pan and leave to steam for about 15-20 minutes until the potatoes are soft.
Remove from the heat and finish with one teaspoon garam masala and a handful of fresh coriander.
I upped all the above ingredients a bit because I used more and smaller potatoes than the original.
My potatoes took nearer 30mins until they were ready too. ____________________ Glass half full. |
