They're also much faster than those silly paddle board things. Dance!

Because of the length of the boats they can sit really nicely on wash behind other boats and you get towed along surprisingly well. If you're sitting on wash then the rudder under the boat can be out of the water though. Laughing

Yeah but we're great.
Cool

Today my gears are mostly oiled by a conversation with the Italian shrink, who almost always has interesting news.

But - infuriating little bugger - he always gives me *just a little taster* of the news, and I have to either guess the rest, or keep asking things until he goes all edgy on me again Laughing

Working with him is like herding cats. Rolling Eyes
I wish I could get to know him better as a person.
Fascinating.

Pikeys.
Usually they'd be firmly filed in the grinding gears section but this time they're in here.
They've occupied the local park for the past few days which was inconvenient but now they're gone.
Gears oiled by the fact that they didn't leave piles of shit everywhere, didn't destroy anything and the only evidence they were there are some unavoidable tyre marks on the grass.

Well it's very grippy Cool I took it to a twisty road I know well and had at it. I picked up a guy in a 3 series BMW behind me
who wanted to show me what a talented driver he was by sitting on my back bumper, except he could only do that on the
straighter sections as I absolutely left him standing in the bendy parts. Apparently the car has some kind of G-based torque
vectoring control system to help keep it off of its roof during a nice bit of Zoom-Zoom.

More here for anyone interested in such things, but I can definitely say it works.

I've caved in and asked one of the scumbag family down the street to help me with the Snarley today.

Luckily he had a packet of Allen keys in his pocket.

... so just before he rounded my gear-change-lever nut-thingie right off, I remembered it needed an Imperial allen key and that I had a set indoors.

Shocked

I didn't even know there was such a thing until I bought some fog light brackets from America and discovered none of my Allen keys or bits fitted it so I had to go and buy some. Spanners and sockets fair enough, but I always assumed Allen keys were a fairly recent thing compared to the six sided bolt head.

Paddling with two groups yesterday wasn't enough so we went for more today. Because I'm faster than Nobby's 15 year old Noblet we decided that I should do the balls in the water handicap thing. With those four balls in the water there is so much extra drag and we experimented with putting the balls in different positions to see how it affects the waves they create.

We had such fun playing stupid stupid games that I think Noblet was slightly getting home for his lunch but that's no big deal as the more we go kayaking the faster both of us will get. We even did some sensible stuff as well as the stupid ball position experiments. Laughing

Really upset some PC twats on FB because I called the Dutch cloggies. In answer to their accusations I said it was descriptive not racist, as was calling Taffys sheepshaggers.

There was much wailing and gnashing of teeth. Cool Laughing

Today, it was the very first time I tried a pin-lock system and I am astonished. Regardless of how cold and humid it was today, the visor stayed clear!
