Hey there everyone
Was just wondering if someone could tell me how a tighter chain would differ a bike's performance to a loose chain. I can't decide which would be better, alrthough I do understand a too tight chain can overload the engine and a to loose chain can just snap or fall off the spocket (had that happen to me a while ago - d'oh!)
Thanks guys ____________________ What's ya name? What av' ya taken? Chase the lasers, safe as f*ck! |

If it is too tight then it wears the chain and sprockets fast as it has too much stress on it, the gearbox can also get damaged by over tight chain. If it is too loose then it will be flapping around and will wear faster as will the sprockets and if it is too loose it can hit things like the swing arm. Your bikes performance is reduced by both of them, think it being too loose reduces is more, not 100% sure though, just keep it adjusted correctly. |
